Great work! I've been using this on my LAN at home for simple cross-platform file transfers every now and then. It's like using Apple's Airdrop or Android's nearby share!
Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Re: When will this forum site get a new modern design?
Any redesign must not include a performance degradation of significance. It's something that should be looked into, but keeping things roughly the same won't hurt anyone. I for one, would like the option for a darker forum theme. It's kind of fun to still use these old-school forums, rather than Red...

Re: The unofficial LMDE XFCE
It's so weird, but it magically works. The source is quite lengthy, and there's quite a bit of inheritance and almost NO comments/docs. Not exactly yummy. :? As for the Users and Groups manager, as someone mentioned, we could look at MATE's implementation. But if it doesn't work, I think there shoul...

Thank you sir!
And YES, I'm going to check just about every single package.
Why not? It's not like I have a life.
Besides, it's not as bad as it looks.

@ Schoelje
Could I see the package list you've got on your Xfce iso?
dpgk --get-selections > ur_text_file > a pastebin
^ or something like that?

Or, you could learn to use the 'whereis' and 'locate' commands.

Fixed!
It was probably the code that you added starting @ ln 364 that made it work.

Re: The unofficial LMDE XFCE
If we include some mint tools and make sure it's polished, Clem won't have any problem approving LMDE Xfce for mint branding.
It's all about quality control.

Re: LMDE XFCE "Unable to start notification daemon" pop up
Could you look at your "Session and Startup" in the xfce4-settings-manager, and tell me what's listed as checked under the "Application Autostart" tab? (sorry I have to specify so explicitly, but sometimes people use the gnome tool and bork up their autostart applications. Like I...

mintConstructor /dev/null: Permission denied [Solved]
--Working with LMDE Xfce (latest respin)-- When mintconstructor opens an xterm with chroot, I get a ton of these errors: bash: /dev/null: Permission denied From what I've read online, it's supposed to have to have something to do with how the disk is mounted. I don't really know. I've never had this...

Perhaps parole could be better than VLC as a default application. The VLC gui kinda rubs me the wrong way anyways. - inxi, wow. Now that's pretty nice! Re: The unofficial LMDE XFCE
Yeah, maybe we could keep the backup manager. But the upload manager and domain blocker can probably go.
I've never used them. If someone needs them, they're always in the repos.

Re: The unofficial LMDE XFCE
Personally I don't use the Mint software manager either. I just thought other people did. Now, the Update Manager, that one is a jewel for me. How about LightDM instead of MDM?
