When I check installed components it seems that this gnome_tweak_tool is already installed. But, I can't find it in menu? Where is it? Applications/System Tools? or somewhere else?

Thanks both, but it seems that it is pretty complicated. I am pretty new in all this and don't have that knowledge for this instructions. Thanks anyway, it seems that I will keep using Kompozer for web design :-(

I have installed Wordpress through Software Manager but I can't find it in Mint menu. Where is Wordpress? How can I crate shortcut on my desktop. When I choose create launcher what should I write as a Command?

Thanks for very useful post. I did already know some of this. My question is: how we know what to write for command in "create launcher" menu. OK, for Firefox is "firefox", for Gimp is "gimp", but what about other? Or it is just name of program every time?

Thanks rich_roast, I just tried disabling Compiz effects,Google Earth problem persists unchanged. It persists for me too. Same problems, just exactly as you have explained in first post.
