Re: Mint in Crises?

You could read the Mint blog and form your own opinion. Going straight to the source is probably a better idea than asking for people's speculations here. +1 I've also read some of the stories the OP is referring to and those are just opinions of the article writers. Like Moem says, form your own i...

Not wanting to start trouble but I would do a clean install to 18.3 and enjoy for the next few years. IMHO, I really think 18.3 is next to perfect 8)

Re: That poor other OS...

Didn't Microdoze get sued many years ago for something similar to this :?: You mean the Microsoft anti-trust trial ? Oh, I remember it well, and I suspect a great many others out there do, too. Sadly, given Americans' overall "short attention span", it's doubtful that if you grabbed 100, 1000, or e...

Re: [SOLVED]Mint 18.1 Will not boot with kernel 4.4.0-143

Re: Mint 18.1 Will not boot with kernel 4.4.0-143

I really didn't read the above BUT I also had problems with kernel 4.4.0-143 booting up. My problem was I ignored the NVIDIA-340 update because I didn't think I needed it since I run a generic driver for my video. I installed it and now everything is fine

Re: Worse system performance on Linux than on Windows

I've got an older toshiba nb305 mini laptop. Windows was a dog .. I tried all Mint desktops. Finally I found Peppermint 32 bit version 8 and it runs like a top on these old machines. No idea why but I don't care
