Re: Who would do this to their Cinnamon desktop?

I honestly see a place for this for the older folks. I've tried setting up Linux on peoples computer and they had a cow with the desktop

Re: Why is 19.3 a bodge?

The upgrade from 19.2 to 19.3 messed my laptop up a bit. It seemed to remove programs I added to help with battery life. All is good now ... except my laptop is dual boot with Windoze 10 and Windoze seems to run around 45 mins longer with a full battery charge :?:

I do mine on Credit Karma and then let my accountant review my work. She only charges me 10 bucks to review it when I do most of the work 8)

Yep. That's what I did and now it appears empty. However, now I noticed that I can't access System Settings!
Never had that happen :( I’m sure tried another reboot. Do you have a newer Timeshift that you can run to restore back a few days

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 'Tricia' What are your First Impressions?

My laptop upgrade from 19.2 to 19.3 didn't go real smooth. I lose a lot of programs I had in my lower 'panel'. Firefox also had all my plug-in missing :?: After restoring everything I'm happy now

Russian fighters still use 6l6 vacuum tubes  Arrh, the good old beam tetrode, 6L6. First on the market July 1936 so only 16 years and it will be 100 year old technology. The 807 with higher voltage rating and the smaller 6V6. All those who want to go back to using valve amplifiers - do the...

I like this forum and the green/white. Never worked on mainframe computer and printer systems .. hey

Only complaint is the search function isn't that great but I have ways around using it.

Re: RING Security Doorbell

I think y'all are missing something. The so called hacking of Ring was simple lack of understanding on the user part not some zero day or vulnerability thing. If any of these folks had set their systems up with a strong random passphrase and username that wasn't used at all eslewhere they'd have no...

Now I'm thinking about getting this system, setting it up all over my home, then walking around naked all the time while playing Lawrence Welk music.
This is the reason I don't have any in my home. I would SCAR these poor young hackers for life

RING Security Doorbell

Anyone found a way to run the application to view a RING security doorbell camera? RING makes an app for MAC, Windows and Android. I don't have WINE installed and really don't want to install it. I've searched here and on the internet a bit but really only found unsecured stuff.

Thanks

Mine did this after I installed the Nividia driver through 'Drive Manager'. I don't have a solution how to fix this. I just did a restore from an image backup.
