Re: ShutDown Vbox before Shutting down Linux

Always had a habit of shutting down all running programs before shutting down the OS. Probably from my Windoz years  At one point when I was in IT we had a check list posted on the wall of the server room. It listed the shutdown order of all applications, servers, network switches, routers...

I've tried them all and don't see any difference on my machine. I don't turn on all the 'eyecandy' stuff either.

I keep programs that I don't use deleted off my SSD. One thing about Linux ... you can install and delete programs without worrying about trashing your OS like Windoz

Japanese head of cybersecurity knows nothing about computers ! I want a job! I could tell him that I need a brand new Ferrari because there might be a virus in the computer that would make me run over a million people. Before I became the manager of IT where I worked I had a boss that didn'...

Re: People's legitimate Win 10 Pro systems are being disabled...

Last night I was bored so I downloaded the VM for Windows 10. I noticed you could try out Photoshop CC for 7 days. I looked to see how much it would cost to buy the program. Appears you can't  You have to pay a monthly or yearly fee. They can SHOVE that

Re: Dropbox? What is it?

I stay away from all Cloud Storage options, because transferring files between my devices chews up ALL of my monthly data allotment. I only use WiFi transfers from cellphone to PC, so Dropbox is useless to me. I used Google for a while, until I realized that my data allotment was gone by the 12th d...

Re: What the f**t (font)

The only real problems I've ever had with Linux is the printing. Windoz does a good job with printing IMHO. I've got so I print out to a PDF file and then print it and I don't have any issues doing this. I think If I upgraded to a newer HP laserjet I would probably have less issues printing. I've ne...

Thanks for the information, Karl. I'll follow your advice. Pepi- I tried to report the number, but they didn't make it easy. Will look at it again later.
