Re: What's so dangerous about a hard power off?

A new switch is probably easy to find on the internet and easy to install AND in my area we have power failures all the time. I don't but should have a UPS powersupply. I have never had any corruption problems 8)

Re: Google Earth rendering earth globe 1inx1in

Hi Phd21

I actually removed it and only use the web-base version now. I really like it. Thanks anyway

Re: Will you look at that ... Just look at that ...

I tried an install to a USB drive last night. It won't boot :?: Setup took over and hour also. Something goofy happened. I'll try it again.

Re: LMDE Users

I found LMDE to be a bit faster than Ubuntu BUT to deal with software installs is a headache. This is why I went back to 18.3.

Your new system is inherently a lot more secure... your browser however is not. I would install some add-ons to keep you safer: a combination of
- HttpsEverywhere,
- DecentralEyes,
- PrivacyPossum and
- Ublock Origin
... is a decent enough setup.
Maybe FireJail also

Appears that V2 has fixed the problem. You should be good to go with V2

I did an install of Mint 19 Cinnamon on a USB stick last night. I did turn off the network and then did the updates after a reboot. Runs like a top now 8) 8)
