A few pointers for distro-hoppers
Hi to all, I have been trying out quite a few distros lately and I developed a very simple procedure to be able to do this with as few hassles as possible. I hope this may help some of the newbies out there. First of all, when installing your first distro be sure to have a separate partition for you...

Re: LMDE KDE
I'm using Linux Mint KDE (w/ KDE 4.8.1) on my personal laptop, and so far I'm very pleased with it. It is light-years ahead of KDE 4.6.5. I now have to upgrade my workstation (the one at the office, that I use for real work) from Ubuntu 11.10 because Unity doesn't seem to get along well with my grap...

Re: Duck Duck Go, Chrome and revenue for Linux Mint
I had set all of my Mint versions ( old & older  ) to DuckDuckGo But:- there was a major hiccup - the search results - were all very bad - in fact lousy :( - they seem to always give a result for a US based locality. :? so, I have, unfortunately, had to - go back to google, to get some s...

Re: Duck Duck Go, Chrome and revenue for Linux Mint
It does not matter what browser you use, as long as you use DuckDuckGo with t=lm. Ok, that's what I thought. I think it would be worthwhile to publish a blog post on the Linux Mint page with instructions on how to use DDG with the t=lm identifier on other browsers. I believe there are many people w...

Duck Duck Go, Chrome and revenue for Linux Mint
Hi to all! I just installed LM12 KDE, and I'm loving it :D I noticed that the default search engine is Duck Duck Go, and that the search string contains t=lm, which I suppose is an identifier that allows DDG to count searches originating from LM. This is default in firefox. Since I'd rather use chro...

Re: Some KDE noob questions
Just installed Mint 12 KDE. I've never liked any of the other KDE 4 distros I've checked out but, as usual, the Mint team seems able to make everything better. I know basically nothing about KDE but I'd like to learn, especially as well as the KDE version of Mint 12 seems to be working. First three...

Re: Trying KDE 4.3.x on a LM7 64bit edition?
I have exactly the same problem. I think the correct solution would be to install the "mint-meta-kde" package, but it gives me some unresolved dependencies I can't figure out: barbomo@capture01 ~ $ sudo apt-get install mint-meta-kde Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Re...
