Re: Dangerous? Running Linux Mint 19.3 until Linux Mint 22 arrives

Obviously NO other part of Linux Mint 19.3 is updated. You've not been receiving any security updates for any components, inclusive of the kernel, since April 2023, other than the ones that you're manually updating. I wouldn't be able to quantify how much of a security risk this would be without kn...

apt isn't for flatpak. You want flatpak update. Or just use Update Manager.

Re: no update available from mint 21.1

Is it possible to somehow configure something else the wrong way which prevents me from seeing the update option? I suppose that could be possible, however I am not aware of it. It's my understanding that if such an upgrade has been made available, you just need the latest versions of those two com...

It should be. :?

From the terminal, see the results of: apt list mint-upgrade-info mintupdate

For LM 21.1, mint-upgrade-info should show version 1.2.5, and mintupdate should show version 5.9.8.

Let that be a decision for yourself, as I merely told you what I do. :) I'm sure there have been others who have had success in such antics as well.

Re: Version change?

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated. Speaking for myself, anytime I'm introducing a new desktop, it's via a fresh install. While it's technically possible to integrate new desktops within an existing deployment, I've seen too many problems that others have had with such an endeavor, and I want t...

Per the Installation Guide that you provided, "GPG might warn you that the Linux Mint signature is not trusted by your computer. This is expected and perfectly normal."

You're executing that command in a directory where both those files don't exist. You need to execute that command in the directory where both the files are.

I am using Windows 10 and want to add Linux Mint xfce to it. I am following the steps but the right-click feature to 'save as' does not exist. I don't use Windows, nor do I know what browser you're attempting to download with, but that "Save As ..." option would be a function of your brow...
