I'm insane :lol: and really don't know what I'm doing but my method, after trying out all sorts of other ways, is to just drag and drop all my /home stuff into a parallel copy on the other hard drive, see here :D

You could always try using BleachBit in the Package Manager - not sure if its there for Mint 9 OS though.

Hello Mdyter when re-installing operating systems it is probably good to delete any .hidden files from /home if you use a separate /home partition as it contains settings which can conflict with a new install.
