Re: Linux versus Win7

I run mint in a virtual machine, and it does what I want it to do. I prefer using Mint over my crummy Vista  install. I was thinking bout upgrading to Win7, but decided I could wait another year till I get a new laptop. Both OSs have things that they do better than the other. Use whatever OS ...

Honestly, 10 should have been codenamed "Husse", but its not. So I vote "Husse" for 11.

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

I really liked Mint 7 more than Mint 8. I did not go back because I want Mint and Linux to move forward so I need to move with them. I am looking forward to Mint 9. Mint 8, as good as it is, just has not appealed to me as much as 7 did. Honestly, I really don't like Mint 8 that much. I agree with R...

Re: About Ditching Windows

FYI if u play games occasionally or a lot, don't ditch windows yet.
all of the virtual machines so far simply don't play games very well.
i myself run VMware, which is used for most businesses, but I can't play games on it because it will either freeze or shut down.
it is really irritating.

Re: Google Chrome on Mint

Yeah, I just installed it.
It is faster than firefox 3.5 on Helena.
I just hope that they make a better toolbar for it.
The one they have right now looks a little bit like IE 7.

Re: Mint 8 -- Quite disappointed. I'm going back to Ubuntu.

I'm really surprised that Ubuntu actually released 9.10. It really sucks. Perhaps the Mint team should wait until the next Ubuntu release, and then re-release Helena with those packages. (Hopefully the next Ubuntu won't suck as much as 9.10) Also, if you want a Mint with a lot of support and stuff, ...

Re: Mint 8 -- Quite disappointed. I'm going back to Ubuntu.

Considering Mint 8 just came out not too long ago, I'm not surprised that there are a few bugs in it. I doubt that Ubuntu 9.10 is much better than Mint 7, though. You could always go back until the bugs are fixed in Helena.
