Re: Graphic bug after standby

Integrated Graphics can sometimes be a pain. Try installing any proprietary drivers and see if that helps. Could also try out 13.10 and see if that helps at all.

It's all about branding

It's all about the branding. People don't really care what it is, as long as it's something they understand and they can use. Proof of this was given in the Is it Windows 7 or KDE 4 video by the ZDNet guys. They understand "Windows", so they accept that, no matter what it really is. In thi...

Re: Banshee for Gloria !!

I've been using Banshee to sync with my Android G1. Works very nicely. Banshee doesn't check your library periodically for new songs. That's the one big handbrake for me. Until they add that in I'm not going near it. That's apparently on the feature list for the next release. In Banshee 1.4.2 , you'...

My vote is definitely not for Openbox, but the Netbook Remix instead.

Netbook Remix

Alhtough LXDE is awesome, what are your thought on using the Netbook Remix instead? I've been running it on my Eee for the past half year and have been loving it.

Re: MintMenu on xfce?

MintMenu uses some resources that require the Gnome desktop, particularly the Gnome panel. For the mintMenu to become available on XFCE, we'd need a mintmenu-xfce package.

If there is a bounty and a developer available for this, I'm willing to contribute $50.

More Compositing

It would be great if Linux Mint came with more compositing features:

fusion-icon: Allows switching from Compiz to Metacity
emerald: Nice window decorator
enlightenment: More slick window decorations

Support OpenSUSE oneClick and Build Service?

The OpenSUSE Build Service is just one example where OpenSUSE is going over the top to make it easier for developers to package their software. It would be awesome if mintInstall supported the packages created by this tool.

If you goto the mintMenu, Administration, Screen and Graphics Preferences, you'll see the Screen and Graphics Card tabs. Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Now that we are thinking about the look of Linux Mint Carbon , it seems like it would be a good time to get some neat ideas from existing Linux Mint desktops out there. So, make your desktop pretty, and then take a screenshot of it (PrintScreen) with your favourite applications and your home folder ...
