hrmm it is turned on... :( I am worried now.

I reset it and had a look at what the bios had to say about temperatures and it agrees with 'sensors'.

The temp does go up by a good 10 - 20 degrees if I start f@h so I figure the thermal sensors must be working? Perhaps they are reading low.

Hrmm!

thank you for the awesome response :)
mintinstall 2.6 looks very promising, I wouldn't be surprised if similar software started popping up on other distros.

So just wondering, what are the advantages of mintinstall over Gdebi?
Or more to the point .mint over .deb?

I was under the impression that firewalls were unnecessary for most home linux users?
I hope so because I haven't used a firewall or antivirus since formating my NTFS partition to ext3 :P

Smaller icon in system tray is nice,
I seem to be able to have multiple instances of mintUpdate at once, not sure if this is a bug or not?

Anyway, I'm confusled. I don't know why it's apparently in the Cassandra repository and NOT in the Celena repository, when it seems to have been included in the Celena image. From what I can gather the celena repository doesn't mirror the cassandra repository and only contains files that are unique...
