Re: Installing LMDE on a RAID set

There is a "How-To" for a RAID install at "http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=67924" What the how-to proposes is quite detailed and also release-specific, that is it may change depending on new packages, etc. I added some information there about another possibl...

Re: HOWTO: Install LMDE on a system with a Fake RAID (dmraid

I have successfully installed Mint-Debian 2011-09 on a RAID-1 system using the process described in this how-to. It went quite smoothly, except for the final step of getting GRUB installed. That took several tries but was ultimately successful. Altogether it was an educational experience. But I thin...

Restoring "Welcome to Linux Mint" Window [SOLVED]

OK, this question IS a bit stupid, but I have poked around in the "obvious" places in the system and I can't figure it out: Mint puts up a "Welcome to Linux MInt" window when booted. It has some useful links to documentation and such. It also has an option to "Don't show thi...

Partitioning Advice

Not to sweat all of the millions of partitioning schemes out there. The sizes you propose are just fine. All the USE AS or file types should be "ext3" and the mount points are just as you have stated: "/", "/boot", and "/home". Try it, all will be well. (I lik...
