install KDE on Linux Mint Mate 17.1

I want to get used to KDE 17.1.
So, how can I add KDE (17.1) to my MINT 17.1 in order to choose which one to use when booting?

Thanks a lot for your patience with newbie questions like this... :)

Thanks for this info!
Right now I am running LM 13 Mate, works very well.
When I'll have time again, I will give LMDE another try...

Re: Linux Mint Debian Stable (For Those Running This Setup)

I beg your pardon for another dummy question... sorry, sorry... :? (I appreciate the advices and to-do's for getting a LMDE-stable (squeeze) system! Thanks to all contributors so far!!) Is there any advice for getting already your LMDE Stable based on (Beta) Weezy? (Or have i just missed that, maybe...

Re: Linux Mint Debian Stable (For Those Running This Setup)

...use a LMDE Xfce to turn it into LMDE Stable. ...but I used some tweaks I saw on the Debian Forum and got the fonts looking decent again. What were these tweaks? The idea sounds great to me, :D I am just thinking about doing the same - IF my NVIDIA Card will allow it... (works good on LM 13 Mate)...

Re: Linux Mint Debian Stable (For Those Running This Setup)

On the subject of conflicts: it seems that dropping Mint repo is not enough. You'll have to prevent some packages from updating, and it's not only xchat (btw, what exactly is that breakage mentioned in the tutorial? is that info still relevant?), but also libcairo2, fontconfig-config and libfontcon...
