Realtek WiFi

Hi All, I installed Mint 7 and everything was working as expected. I customised the system look 'n feel and all was ok. MintUpdate pointed out that 66 updates were available which I applied. Since then my wifi started to show intermittent connection problems. I then thought maybe the driver wasn't v...

So yes, the next version of mint will have GNOME 2.20.

Any instructions on how I can install from source?

Gnome 2.20

Hi,

I was just wondering why there is no mention of Gnome 2.20 on here? Having seen and read the enhancements i'm looking forward to getting it installed. Is there any plans to integrate with Mint any time soon?

Thanks

Updates

Hi, I was wondering whether there is a method of controlling which updates are applied to my Mint distro? What I mean by this that instead of having a scenario where you turn them off completely (as per 3.1), I'd like to update everything except kernel ones. The problem is when I do a apt-get update...

Auto mount XP network folder, how?

Hi, I'm a little curious to know how in Mint you're able to mount an XP network folder without getting me to setup any samba? I know I enter the domain name during the install but, surely that isn't enough to to the mount automatically? Could someone please clarify this for me as I've been asked by ...

Change File Manager

How do I change my file manager from Nautilus to Gnome Commander? I can run GC from command line but want it to open when I click Home.

Thanks

Hi All, I've just installed the new release and think it's very good :). It seems very responsive and clean. I did have problems with Envy initally that it took ~30secs to load and then had an error when it tried to download/install my nvidia driver. I tried it once again and it got through. The oth...

In-built Webcam

Hi,

Is there a driver I can use to get my in-built webcam to work? In Windows it was known as BisonCam and worked fine with Yahoo Messenger, and that's basically the functionality I'm looking to replicate in Linux.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Indy
