Root password live USB [SOLVED]

Hello, The other day I created a live USB with Mint 16 Xfce with persistence. Works like a charm. I set up the WiFi, my VPN, the works. I even managed to set up a second user account using adduser. But now that I'm trying to repeat all of this on another USB, I can no longer run adduser unless as lo...

Release 13 on CD ?

Hi all, I've got this laptop computer that was happily running Release 12 (Lisa) with a Gnome desktop, and since I had some spare time on my hands I was thinking about upgrading to Release 13 (Maya), maybe even switch to KDE (which installed on another system recently and which I found to be absolut...

right mouse button and wallpaper [SOLVED]

Hello,

Simple question. I accidentally changed the function of the right mouse button from default to something else. Any idea how to change that back ? With the current selection I no longer have the option to change the wallpaper, which is something I would like to do.

Many thanks

Can I change the log-in screen on Fluxbox 9 ?

Hello all, I have been looking around for the answer to this question but I haven't been able to find it. Hopefully someone can provide it here. I would like to change the log-in screen of a Fluxbox 9 installation. With that I mean: just the picture. It can easily be done on a CrunchBanb installatio...

Re: No Splash :(

Never mind. My "customer" is happy with the new setup and the splash isn't missed.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it back in future releases though ! After all, it has always been something one could switch off using Startup manager, right ?

Cheers

Hello all, Just installed Mint on yet another computer on my quest to drive Windows out of my sphere of influence. Mint 12 LXDE this time, on a Inspiron 640 m. This boots fairly quickly but still, I would like to have something to look at as the computer is doing whatever needs doing before you can ...

Upgraded from 10 - can't get WiFi to work anymore ! [SOLVED]

Hello, I do hope someone can help. I wanted to upgrade from 10 so I tried LXDE12. That didn't see the WiFi card on my Inspiron 640m (a.k.a. e1405 I believe). I installed the Additional Drivers but no joy whatsoever. I tried to ndiswrap the .inf driver I had found when the machine was running XP and ...

Re: Mint stickers to cover windows

I may be wrong but are these guys not based in Italy ? I have lived there for eleven years now and let me tell you this: the Posta Italia is as reliable as any post service in the world - 200 years ago. International post is problematic. I use a postcard service based in The Netherlands to send out ...

Re: Merchandise ?

Creamy peanut butter ? I should try that some time. I used nail polish remover on my wife's computer - and I had to put the windows sticker back on to hide the damage caused to the metallic looking finish.... Fortunately she doesn't care about that sort of thing - as long as it all works fine she do...

Hi Garvan,

Thanks for that - took me two minutes to fix.

The launcher command turned out to be "ooffice" - I didn't need to add anything else to get what I wanted.

Cheers

Dear Mint team, Every laptop I have come across has a little Windows sticker on it. And every time I replace Windows by Mint I try to remove them. Hello there.

Problem solved - the old fashion way. I completely removed both Terminal installations and reinstalled one (only need one). Problem gone.
