Re: Disappearing Clock

I have this bug too on Mint 18.2 Xfce 64bit. The fix is to make your change twice... i.e. from the OP change the clock format to 12 hour and close (clock disappears  ), then open panel settings, select properties for the clock, change to 12 hour format again and this time it should stick :D

Re: Google not signing Chrome with a public key?

The solution here https://askubuntu.com/questions/943146/apt-update-error-an-error-occurred-during-the-signature-verification-chrome worked for me. Looks like it's a cock up by Google on changing their public key.

Not much help in solving it, but I have the same problem in Chrome (I've uninstalled Flash for Firefox etc). My workaround is to use my PS3 or Android devices.

Re: What made you switch to Linux Mint?

Linux Mint 17.2 cinnamon suited both my needs and the desktop does not get in my way. It works for me professionally and in a recreational sense. I do have one thing against it, though this might be a bit stupid, i mean why let feelings get in the way of a otherwise perfect distro. But, Linux Mint ...

Re: Keeping LibreOffice up-to-date on Betsy

The inability to keep libreoffice updated to its bleeding edge version is probably the most annoying limitation of LMDE. I have LMDE2 in my main computer, and LM17.2 in several laptops. In the main, I'm forced to stay with LO 4.3, in the laptops I have LO 5 (thanks to the PPAs). LO is by far the mo...

Re: LMDE systray border (for BlueBerry icon etc)

Some icons have an option to show a border. You could try checking the options for those icons to see if the option is present and enabled. Neither BlueBerry nor Variety have this option. They both have the option to remove the icon from the systray, but that reduces their functionality. When runni...

Bug - LMDE systray border (for BlueBerry icon etc)

Recently switched to LMDE 2 from the main edition and very happy. But there's one bug in the Cinnamon panel that I can't find a fix for. The icon for BlueBerry (and Variety* too) has a black border around it that is inconsistent with the rest of the panel theme. Border.jpg What's even stranger is th...

For some reason catfish is not installed in Mint 15 Xfce (I'm guessing you're using this edition), but it's easy to install.

Re: Why does sound-setting indicator behave...?

Yes, it removes mint-meta-xfce for me too, but this causes no problems. I much prefer pavucontrol - thank you again :)

Re: Why does sound-setting indicator behave...?

So here is what I did: I removed xfce4-mixer. I installed pavucontrol. Now here is where the fun begins. The indicator-sound applet does not open pavucontrol when you press [Sound Settings]. I created a symlink so that when it tries to open xfce4-mixer, pavucontrol opens instead. sudo ln -s /usr/bi...

Re: FLAC replay gain gui?

There is soundKonverter (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=29024) - a KDE app. But I'm happy to use the command line with the instructions from here: http://www.bobulous.org.uk/misc/Replay-Gain-in-Linux.html#flac-and-metaflac

Thank you. Having looked at this page, it may not be straightforward to include the graphics driver, but I will do more research over there.

Live CD/DVD including graphics driver

How would I go about putting together (for personal use) a Live Mint 9 x64 Live CD/DVD image that included the FGLRX graphics driver?

Out of interest, what is the URL?

Re: MS Bluetooth Mouse 5000

I have this mouse working with Isadora (and Helena before that) - ignore the PIN box. Make sure the mouse is discoverable (alternate green and red light flashing), and instead click on the Bluetooth icon in the task bar. Follow the setup new device wizard. If the PIN box appears again, cancel, and s...

The only significant issue was that the wireless was disabling itself and requiring a reboot to become enabled. This has se...
