What are you wanting to do. Install another mint using the link, or fix the one that's already installed?

Re: booting mint 16 with grub4dos

I'm a little confused. Are you wanting to boot the installed mint or the iso file using g4d?

If you already installed mint then what happen to the grub loader.

Re: Can't boot Linux Mint 14 - Ubuntu Screen appears.

Run the following command from a terminal, so we know what we're dealing with:

Code: Select all

sudo fdisk -l
You might have to use the LIVECD, since linux isn't working.

Re: unwanted language

Sorry as its not in english i cant see what your getting at, but you can use bleachbit to remove additional languages, its in the preferences. I always do that first thing. In fact I unplug the internet right after it collects all needed time and location, so the extra languages don't get in. But I...

Re: GRUB rescue prompt - live USB boots to black screen

Are you sure mint was installed on hd0,5 ?

if you issue a 'ls' from the grub prompt, it will list all you partitions.

If mint is on hd0,5 did you try from the grub prompt
grub> configfile (hd0,msdos5)/boot/grub/grub.cfg

If you run the livecd for a period of time, does it too crash? Try it. If not then maybe think of a re-install without the eCryptfs enabled.

So this is what I was doing last: Chrome open browsing local pages (what I'm editing) I'm curious what version of Chrome are you using. The last one I use prior to "27.0.1453.93" always crashed my system. After about two to three restarts, I am able to do as much work as I can without cra...

Here's the Upstart Cookbook , but first read this blog on Upstart intro . By the way boot up manager doesn't work well or at all with upstart, since a lot of init.d have been turned over to upstart. Interesting I find my bluetooth stopped and modemmanager still running.: $ initctl status bluetooth b...

Re: Installing Mint 14 (32bit Mate) on older machines.

Near the bottom where the install is going on, there is a small triangle that if you click will open a small terminal and show what messages its now displaying. If that doesn't help you can use the ubiquity debug mode to reveal more info. Also log messages will be of great help. Follow the link here .

Re: Move existing Linux Mint 13 install to another computer

Since you have a new laptop, your going to have new hardware as well. Its best to just install mint anew. That way you would avoid any conflicts.

If you want you could backup your home partition/folder using the backup icon.
