Re: Eclipse is connected to what?
D, Thanks for the link. I'm still curious about fixing whatever problems the Eclipse removal caused. I noticed UpdateManager updated 'Flash plugin installer' today. Online movies (other than YT) still don't work. Does anyone think maybe installing Eclipse via the link might fix the problem created b...

Eclipse is connected to what?
I tried to install Eclipse last night but just couldn't get it to work the way it's supposed to. When I tried to delete it via Synaptic I got a lot of red highlighting. So, I went online and found out how to get rid of 'Eclipse'. Well, whatever it did has disabled any online movie videos, but I can ...

Re: <SOLVED>Don't try this at home...
Found .opera, opened as root = not doing anything else :D I did look in bookmarks.adr but there are very few files and it mentions files that look to be standard bookmarks for Mexico, which I wouldn't need. It's almost like I'm not in the right drive but everything else looks like I am. This is resu...

Re: <SOLVED>Don't try this at home...
Fred, Appreciate the reply. I was in Synaptic when I removed the files. I hadn't had my coffee yet and now that I'm writing this I recall seeing quite a bit of red highlighting. So, I just hit 'OK'. Yes, as previously mentioned, I'm an idiot  As you said, I'm just gonna save the important stuff...

Old post but hoping someone still checks in. Frank, I did something similar and now I'm working off the install disk. I'm saving all my important files to my external and trying to figure out how to fix the problem. I was in Synaptic trying to clean up my python files, in order to install the latest...

Re: Desktop crashes or goes into black screen. XServer dies. Cinnamon 17.3.
Aay,
I suspect there are some bigger problems with xserver brewing and people in the know are waiting to know more about the issue before they reply. I hope that's what it is.
Hope you get some help soon.

Made the change and restarted twice. I've found problems don't show always show up after first restart. The third restart, after I logged in, the wireless disconnected from my laptop. Spoke too soon. It still drops Internet connection but only about once a day. I still feel it's something from an update but can't say what, since I don't know.

Thanks. You're right I didn't get an output. Not sure what all that means but we'll call it solved.

output
lmdv6 ~ # [in red colored font]
Then I did the next command and after 30sec it returned to the prompt. I did ctrl-d twice and it went to logout so I logged out and back in.
What should have happened?
Thanks again and Happy New Year!
