Re: Cannot record sound. Playing is OK-ish

IMO you should point the repos back to testing and dist-upgrade again. You probably had already a system newer than Squeeze and then you pointed the repos to it. I don't know what may have happened but pulseaudio isn't the default in Debian (it's ALSA) and the newer versions are better so I suspect...

Eh, so sound problems somewhere else :(
I think it's a blue icon at the bottom right of the video screen.
Will check it right when it starts working. I was used to windows set up at work. Thanks!

Re: Cannot record sound. Playing is OK-ish

I gave up on the 2.6.39 kernel!! But I switched my repos to squeezy, isnt it 2.6.37 ? I might have it updated first to this latest kernel and than switched to stable. Can I somehow get it back? I like thinks "to just work" and I am not a tweaking freak. Skype is a must for me I use the share screen...

Cannot record sound. Playing is OK-ish

The latest update to LMDE killed my recording. I think I have Pulsaudio. I have not updated for some time. Like 3 months. I used to have problems with Skype, but now there is just no recording possibility at all. I have tried to use the in stock Record app, and it gave me an error. I had to install ...

LMDE does not want to reboot/restart

Hi I am not sure if it is a bug and I should put it on lunchpad. My LMDE opens just fine, shuts down just fine, but restarting does not work. I took a picture, of how it leaves me. When I just turn it off now and on again, does not seem to cause any problems. Could you tell me what information shoul...

Re: LMDE half broken

Hi, you can try to boot the recovery mode. If it works and the terminal opens, update with the command sudo apt get-update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade It did not work, but there was another command that popped out as a suggestion so I did it and it worked out. you might find yourself having more k...

LMDE half broken

Hi Mint-ers I have been doing an update of my LMDE. It was having problems and I finally found out how to do it. It was having about 800MB of updates. It was in the evening and I was tired so I left it installing. I set up timer to switch computer off and since I have super fast internet I set it up...

Re: How to get all my RAM

Hey Blaite, Yes you can install x64bit along with x32 Windows. You may see little improvement but with 4GB ram you will not see a big increase. You may see some decrease depending on the app you are running. So it will be up to you in the long run. I would personally recommend x32 with PAE Kernel. ...

Re: How to get all my RAM

Thank you both. I googled the PAE thing and it seem to be OK for now. But for the future update, can I use 64tit version if i have 32bit windows too. And will i gain anything by switching? I have Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz frequency 800.000 MHz l2 cache 6144 KB GeForce 8600M GS card ...

How to get all my RAM

Hi guys I have been using Linux Mint for some time already. I had problems with Skype recording and trying to solve it did not work. So I reinstalled the system. I installed openSUSE, to see what it is. It was super fast and really nice, but had problems to update software. I am not into tweaking th...

Re: Helena and Recording the sound problems

Thanks for the welcome. The tool will be useful in the future but I guess I was not clear. I can't force my computer to capture sound from outside. It records sound from the software I use. It does not record me talking or anything from outside. It is not just about Skype. I checked in Recording too...

Helena and Recording the sound problems

Hi guys I am such a "newbie" I don't even know where to post this message. I am solving all windows problems to all my friends (as a girl I understand the langue they use better than guys:-)). I use linux 3 years and I love it mostly for the thing that I don't need to know anything or the answer is ...
