Re: Why I love Linux Mint

There is only a few reasons I haven't totally abandoned Windows and it has nothing to do with Linux OS. It has to with some key apps for me: movie editors, web builders, and a decent note taker (like Evernote). Other than that, I'd be Windows free. Evernote for Linux: http://www.webupd8.org/2011/02...

Re: Can't connect ethernet & Wireless

In Linux Mint the ethernet should just work without installing drivers. For wireless you may need a driver. http://www.linux.com/news/enterprise/networking/8259-making-wireless-work-in-ubuntu You will need to connect to the web with ethernet to install the drivers for wireless. Network management is...

Re: remove right click uninstall for only some menu categori

However, it would be a good idea to add an option to hide the right-click uninstall option per-program. That way if, for example, I set up Linux Mint on someone's computer, it would be less likely that they'd make a foolish decision which would inevitably require my help. I installed Mint 9 on my m...

remove right click uninstall for only some menu categories.

Re: Compiling ffmpeg with libx264

Still can't get it to link to libx264.so.105 and I also noticed that even x264 links to the old libx264.so.104 :S I guess I'll just have to use the package in repos even if it's older. My current solution was to compile ffms2, install it, remove the old libffms2 and then symlink it to the new libff...
