Thanks, installed sudo apt install libk3b6-extracodecs. Solved problem. Why isn't this installed by default? is it because I'm using the XFCE version of Mint?

I like Gimp 2.10 better than the old one, it has filters that are not in 2.08. What's the link to install it?

Just installed 19.1 beta to see the changes and I see that the old version if gimp is still here. Why isn't Gimp 2.10 installed? It's been out for a while.

thanks, I installed Mint Mate on usb with etcher, but trying to boot up chromebook using CTRL + L I couldn't get to bios. is there another way?
Etcher acted like it installed iso properly, but when trying to boot it on another laptop, it wouldn't recognize it.

By doing that I wouldn't have to go into developer mode and use Crouton?

Ever since I upgraded to 18.3 Cinnamon I've noticed that almost everytime I boot up I have no internet connection. Then I reboot and its connected. Why? does this have to do with the upgrade? I used to do clean installs and maybe I should have done that this time. Any ideas?

I'm running Mint 18.2 KDE.

For the first time in many years I can't get K3b to copy dvds. I thought I installed all the codecs. But it doesn't work.

What is needed to copy dvds with K3b or Brasero?

I removed Dragon Player and wanted to add vlc for opening CDs but I can't find the right file to paste in the folder. which one is it?
Now nothing pops up in notifier.

I'll may remove Dragon player, VLC should be the default media player for Mint.
