Windows 7 got rid of my GRUB.

So I installed Windows 7 and now when I turn on my computer it goes straight to Windows 7's launcher. I know I did not delete my Mint partition because a) When I installed Windows 7 I selected my Windows partition (it even said it could not install in the mint one) and b) I can see my Linux partitio...

Questions about Knoppix and USB.

Hello everyone. I have used Knoppix before and I liked it. I have a question about USB install. I know I can install Knoppix in a USB flash drive. I want to do this, but I also have some Windows files and programs in the flash drive that I wish to not only keep, but be able to access from Windows in...

Two questions!

Hello everyone. I have two questions. My hard drive is partitioned between Windows Vista (200GB) and Linux Mint (80GB). I am about to replace my Windows Vista with XP. I assume I can install it in the Vosta partition, without affecting my Linux one, right? I just don't wanna lose my data. Another qu...

Twice because my graphics card driver messed up and instead of patiently waiting I just had to do a fresh install.

Small Linux Distro that has Broadcom support.

Puppy Linux doesn't work with me Broadcom wireless card, so I can't use it. Does anyone else know any other distros that I can install in an USB and carry with me that work with it and boot very fast? Damn Small Linux says it works with it if I use ndiswrapper and the .inf file bcmwl5.inf, but mine ...

Re: Why do new people give up on Linux?

The only reason I keep Windows as dual-boot is because of games and Zune Software. However, for the person that just browses the Internet and uses Word, I don't see why Linux could be bad.

How do I extend Linux's partition?

Sorry if this gas been asked before.

I dual boot Windows and Linux, giving Linux 70GB to try it out. I'd like to give it more (taking it from the Windows partition). How do I do this? I have tried Window's Disk Management thing and it doesn't let me extend Linux's partition.

Thanks.

See if your sound card driver has to be installed. From the Menu, go to Administration and then Hardware Drivers. \

I am using Minimize to Tray Plus. I am assuming it is compatible since it is installed and no notifications about compatibility came up.

I can't get Thunderbird to go the panel.

I an using Thunderbird 3. Even if I download the addons, every time I close Thunderbird, it closes for real. When I minimize it, it does that. While I do not mind it that much that it stays in the taskbar, I'd like to get it to minimze into the panel (like Pidgin and Rythmbox do when closed). Any he...
