Back it up. Then delete that folder. Either log out / in or reboot. KDE is back to factory, however all t...

Re: Thinking of Switching to Mint KDE from Arch

I currently use Arch on both my desktop and laptop. My desktop has been trouble-free with Arch, I can't remember the last time I had a problem. However, with my laptop, it seems that kernel updates are constantly breaking _something_ and that something is different each time. For example, a recent ...

Re: leaving Ubuntu, a sad day

before i decided to switch entirely to a gnu/linux system i made sure i found alternatives for everything i was using on win. Once that happened i started to make sure that i learn about as many alternatives to what i had with my first gnu/linux only setup - exactly because of the way i started to u...

KDE 4.7.4 with icontasks (which i prefer over smoothtasks cos you can actually stick 'em to the panel), RSSnow and a nice wallpaper created by some creative mind other than myself:

Still running gnome on my second computer because i'm curious about the development but KDE has become my fav DE by now. Mov...

Re: Kernel 2.6.39-2-686-pae panics on unmount of external hd

thx for clarifying!

yea i thought so...from what I remember from Mint 11 there should be the option...I tested Mint Debian RC and the option to "unmount" in nautilus wasn't there - maybe it's changed with the stable release

Re: Kernel 2.6.39-2-686-pae panics on unmount of external hd

At this stage, all the evidence points to the desktop/file manager, not the kernel. Maybe it's time to change to something else. agreed! I think it may be nautilus related rather than the kernel because using Debian Testing KDE and Dolphin I don't have any issues at all with the above mentioned ker...

hey folks, may I join the club? Running lmde 64Bit pretty much up to date (tracking Debian Testing) Three kernels installed (all 64bit obviously): - liquorix 3.0.0.4 - linux 3.0.0.1 (from debian testing) - linux 2.6.39-2 (from lmde source-cd, so probably Debian testing? :D) Tried with all of these k...

a little bit of...well, open chat

In the late 90s I've had my first encounter with linux, indirectly that is. My cousin, who is very much into computers just got a set of CDs, don't remember how many but all comes down to one thing: installing an OS. Linux. For me, not really into any computer stuff back then, that was the end - for...

using wiimote to control Clementine Music Player

just curious if anyone was able to get the wiimote to work with Clementine and if yes, how. I tried this tutorial http://code.google.com/p/clementine-player/wiki/WiiRemotes but it somehow gets stuck with the Cmake part saying that qtcore isn't installed (which is installed on my machine, i.e. libqtc...
