Re: Updates not listed on mintUpdate but listed in Synaptic
Kernel updates and Xorg updates unsafe? How though, they are created by respectable maintainers, why would they be considered unsafe or dangerous? Plus if Canonical put them into their repositories they could be considered safe.

Updates not listed mintUpdate but listed Synaptic (Solved)
Explanation is in the title. The packages in Synaptic listed under 'Upgradeable' are xorg, udev, and kernel updates.

Removing a Assistive Access Icon (Solved)
I have an Assistive Access icon I can't remove from my toolbar by the clock. Is there anyway to get rid of it? I can't right click on it and when I left click, it opens the Assistive Access Preferences which is all disabled for me. It looks exactly like the icon on the login screen.

MinUpdate Changelog
Is there anyway for MintUpdate to display the changelogs for non-Mint program specific updates? Like for XOrg updates, see the changelog. All the changelogs available are for the Mint Tools only. The Ubuntu Update Manager does this but why was this dropped for MintUpdate?

LM 8 KDE 64bit? [Solved]
Is the new stable release of Linux Mint 8 KDE 32bit or 64bit?
I can't wait for 64bit. I might cave and try 32bit just for the hell of it!

Re: 8 kde live dvd does not boot on HP pavilion ze4300
Good Idea, i'll do that. I read elsewhere on linuxmint.com:
"When starting up the live dvd. With the TAB to the command line i had to delete quiet splash, otherwise the dvd would stall in a black screen during start up to the live desktop."

Re: 8 kde live dvd does not boot on HP pavilion ze4300
I have the same problem. I chose the OEM option and compatibility mode option - but neither work. Under compatibility mode I see the output running down the screen and there are soooo many errors - mostly involving communicating with the DVD drive and the hard drive. MaddogF16 can run the compatibil...

Re: Helena KDE CE update
Historically, how long does a Linux Mint KDE distro take to go from RC to stable?

This is a good link. I did an Babelfish translation:

Re: Linux Mint 8 KDE's Network Manager
Exactly! I have used KNetworkManager on unencrypted and encrypted signals. Encrypted internet signals won't work for me under KNM and I don't usually get access to unencrypted internet, so there's no point to play around with KNetworkManager for me. Too bad though

Re: Linux Mint 8 KDE's Network Manager
Oh perfect! I love the Gnome Network Manager!
I wanna try out WICD, MaddogF16, but last time I did, there was a error with it I kept getting. Unfortunately, that was a while ago and I no longer have access to the log files.
Go LM KDE!

Linux Mint 8 KDE's Network Manager (Solved)
Does anyone know what kind of network manager will be included with Linux Mint 8 KDE? I've tried various OS's with KDE and KNetworkManager is unruly at the best times
