I tried Back In Time and Timevault, but I could get neither to work properly. BIT did the initial backup ok but further snapshots did not appear to contain any files... just empty folders. Timevault failed to take a Baseline snapshot (which sucks) but seemed to backup changing files ok. Pity, as thi...
I recently upgraded to Felicia and 2.6.27-7-generic kernel. I use a Belkin Nostromo N52 Gamepad for online gaming and it has been working fine up till recently. I am now seeing the error below "failed to grab - device or resource busy". Jan 22 17:13:23 jupiter kernel: [ 5438.340025] usb 4-...
Just wanted to "Hi" to Husse, Clem et al... I'm back after a short holiday to Mandriva-land. I must say you guys have really improved things since Cassandra and Celena. Maybe I'll stay a bit longer this time.
I am having a particularly strange problem. When I installed Daryna I opted for no GRUB installation. Instead I modified my existing menu.lst by adding this: title Daryna beta root (hd2,4) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic root=/dev/sdc5 splash=silent initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-generic.b...

I thought the general idea was to avoid auto-checking for updates in order to keep noob installations stable. Not criticisms... just curious ;) EDIT: just read the blog. It's a bit clearer now...
Yes the unmount command is fine but Nautilus really should not be doing this. I like to see the pop-up telling me that it is now safe to remove the media.
I can't remember all the details atm as I am at work but... sometimes if you right-click on the menu button you get an option to "edit menu". Either that, or open the menu and go to Preferences and look for Main Menu. From there you should be able to find your menu item that needs changing...
I am assuming that you have one big / partition ? Is this correct? If this is indeed the case I would try this: 1. Install aptoncd. This will backup your installed packages to a cd. 2. Backup your necessary data (/etc, /home/yourname etc) - this can be done manually or by using sbackup (in repositor...
:? Sorry about that. One other thing to try is, when creating the launcher, drop down the top box and change it from "application" to "application in terminal". That way you might get some console errors to help out. Also you might want to select "browse" to find your c...
