Re: New Linux Mint blog (fan page)

I'm using a fullHD monitor and I didn't notice that because it's been cut only on smaller resolutions. I fixed that, too. Thanks again. :)

New Linux Mint blog (fan page)

I've created a new Linux Mint fan site which I'm going to update frequently. The website's called LME Linux and will cover news about elementary OS and Linux Mint and also Linux in general. Please feel free to comment or tell your opinion about it. It's just starting and I promise there will be fres...

Re: Sleep problem after installing Nvidia driver

No, that's not the case. When I close the lid I hear all the hardwer switching off, so it goes to sleep mode indeed. I just did a sleep / wake up and the same happened: woke up for a second after opening the lid then went to sleep mode again and I had to press the power on button to wake it up. Here...

Sleep problem after installing Nvidia driver

Hi, I'm using Linux Mint 17 and sleep was working fine with the default Nouveau driver, however after I installed the recommended proprietary driver (nvidia-331) I experienced the following after my Thinkpad W530 goes on sleep: when I try to wake up (open up the lid) the screen appears and suddenly ...

Re: Linux Mint 17 codenamed “Qiana”

Hi, new to Mint here. I'm waiting for Qiana with the hope that she make me ditch Windows at last! How can I download a test image to get a first glimpse of the upcoming version? There's no download link. Unfortunately it's not possible to download testing images. The RC version is coming out within...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon

As Audacious 3.2 now supports MPRIS, is there any plan adding support for it to the sound menu?

PS: I really like Cinnamon, thanks for the great work! ;)

Re: My New Linux Mint LMDE desktop

Here's my desktop. It's a shame that Mint-X theme doesn't support panel transparency very well.
My system is LMDE Gnome 64-bit.

Re: HOWTO: Emerald on LMDE

Thank you, guys! Unfortunately the package found in the above link is only for 32-bit, doesn't work on 64-bit machines. I managed to install (an older) Emerald though: - download and install this: http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/amd64/libemeraldengine0/download - and then this one: http://packages....

Re: LMDE XFCE questions

As far as I'm aware, monitor(Display), appearance, and control panel items are the only ones not working from the mint menu. You can access this via the control center, click "Display" or "Appearance", and set it from there. Certainly not enough reason, for me anyhow, to not use mint-menu on xfce d...

Re: LMDE XFCE questions

Sorry, English is not my native language maybe that is why the misunderstanding. :) What I was meant to say is that Mint team handles LMDE Xfce and Gnome together considering the update pack. In other words they are not releasing separate update packs for each. This means that even there are updates...

Re: LMDE XFCE questions

Yes, I installed LMDE XFCE and I love it so far. I also tried Mint Menu on it but not everything was working (for example monitor and display options), so I switched back to it's original Xfce menu. About the updates I was wondering what happens if the Xfce updates are stable and as you said "ready"...

LMDE XFCE questions

Hi! I'm just switching from LMDE Gnome to LMDE Xfce because I don't want to have Gnome 3 in the future. I never used XFCE before. In Synaptic I found two Mint softwares for Xfce which are not installed as default. They are mintconfig-xfce and mintdesktop-xfce. How come that even though they are Mint...

Re: "Latest" repository name

I agree that the name "Latest" was not a good choice. It can be confusing.
As "stable" is not appropriate, I don't have a good suggestion at the moment though.

PS: Mint having it's "own" repository was a great idea! ;)

Re: LMDE RC

I've run into a few quirks with the 64 bit version of the LMDE (respin) RC and found the solutions as well either from other threads, comments on the .iso test posts on the Community website or ones I discovered myself. Not all might experience every one of these quirks but for those that do... Ext...
