[SOLVED] Virtual Box , only 32 Bit virtual machine

Thanks and sorry but it is the first time that I use the UEFI and then I'm afraid to combine disasters without knowing how to fix it.

Re: Info to update Kernel

Thank you very much WinterTroubles. Now I know that GRUB should behave like on UBUNTU I installed a few days ago my new PC and now it works all right so I would not ruin it with an update. I look for someone who uses UEFI tell me if updating the kernel can run into risks (of course, I do not mean th...

Info to update Kernel

Hello. I noticed that linux mint than UBUNTU is much more careful in applying updates to the kernel. Now, having an installation 64Bit UEFI, I wanted to know whether to update the kernel is best to choose the newest. Another thing I would like to know before upgrading is whether the system will crea...

I love ASUS !!!

I changed the pc because he had problems with the DVD player (HP Pavilion 500-345nl).
My choice (in Italy within 7 days from purchase I can change) went on ASUS

Re: Manage UEFY entry

So first I should try installing Mint 17.1 in UEFI mode and then if I have problems trying refind.
That's right?

Instead for eleminare or manage UEFI boot entries from Linux such software or command should I use? For example if I had to get rid of all traces of linux from PC (for warranty issues)

Manage UEFY entry

Hello. Before installing Linux mint 17.1 I would need to know if there is a reliable tool for linux like this http://www.easyuefi.com/index-us.html because I would like to make a backup of the original entry boot and manage them without demolishing the new PC (ASUS M51AC-IT021S). In the absence of a...

Re: Mint 17.1 & Windows 8.1 on UEFI . Boot order !

From Arch Wiki. Windows changes boot order In some motherboards (confirmed in ASRock Z77 Extreme4) Windows 8 changes the boot order in the NVRAM everytime is booted. This can be fixed making the Windows Boot Manager to load another loader instead of booting Windows. Run this command in a Administrat...

Re: Mint 17.1 & Windows 8.1 on UEFI . Boot order !

Hi
Fast Boot on Windows 8.1 is off.
In UEFI bios there a setting that refers to fast boot but I think has nothing to do with Windows fast boot , as even deactivating the behavior remains unchanged.

Re: Mint 17.1 & Windows 8.1 on UEFI . Boot order !

Hello

The directory exists and then mint is properly installed in UEFI mode.
I can not understand why the Windows boot change the order of UEFI items .

PS : The adoption of UEFI has complicated a bit Linux installation.

Solved! I do not know how, but my sources.list file was incorrect. To understand exactly what to put in it I mounted the ISO of LMDE and I opened the file, at which point I corrected my file as below: deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/late...

Nell...
