Re: Screenshots need an auto save
Could you please provide an option to allow the screenshots to get auto saved to the Pictures folder? As of now I don't see any such option in the screensaver app's preferences By default./stock..Linux Mint is supposed to save screenshots using the single and only the PrintScreen ( PrtSc on my duck...

Re: Foxclone support thread
Thanks to Foxclone and Clonezilla I have been able to clone many HDD's/SSD's and replicate my OS setups on other Desktops & Laptops saving me time & effort, although both are excellent choices, I tend to recommend Foxclone more because the instructions on the user manual and the GUI are easi...

Hi to everybody, I'm using LMDE 6 on a Panasonic ToughBook CF-C1 and sound is Not coming through the speaker after reboot, this solution that I posted below used to work on LMDE 5 and LM 20.3, but Not anymore since pulse audio was replaced by Pipewire, so I'm asking if someone has a solution for thi...

Re: In Praise of "Kiddie" Distros
Ignore those idiots. Nothing will please them unless its something they did. Saying linux Mint is a "kiddie Distro" is a very stupid and unkind comment to the developers. Linux Mint is capable of doing anything the other distros can do. Its an extremely well developed flavor of linux and ...

Re: Mint 21 recommended NVIDIA 390 driver gives black screen
Your system will run slow due to the age, it's 13yrs. LM21 is for newer hardware, you could try LM21 Mate or LM20.3. Cinnamon is very resource hungry, stay with the default video driver LM install, Nvidia drivers are problematic. My HP Elite Book 8540p it's almost that old at it outperforms even ne...

Re: [SOLVED] Mint 21 recommended NVIDIA 390 driver gives black screen
I've done a clean install of Mint 21 Cinnamon on an old PC. All went well and it booted up cleanly and offered an update to the Nvidia GeForce GT430 to the recommended, non open-source 390 driver. Did that but it booted to a black screen. So purged the recommened driver and booted back OK to the no...

Re: Hi everyone
Just wanted to let everyone know that Linux is the most glitchy piece of sh*t I've ever used, I hate it, I'm gonna use it. Goodbye Windows. Goodbye easy life. This is my 3rd time coming back to it after furiously quitting 1-2 years ago, I hope I have enough will power to learn how to take half an h...

Re: Hard drive full won't boot. Can I access from live CD?
Is it possible to access HDD from mint live cd? Yes, boot your live CD. First run gparted to confirm that your / partition is full. You will find gparted on the admin menu. Drive selection is a drop-down top right. Timeshift appears to have been ruled out* and I assume you don't have a separate /ho...

Re: Just installed Mint - Mint Locks up and reboots every few minutes
BTW, I have just run W7 mey tests and memtest and the memory passed the tests. I have used that type of ram modules tests before, but I don't fully trust them, they have Marked as good some memory modules that were either dirty on the Gold contacts or damaged/bad, so that's why I don't trust them a...

Re: Linux Mint on Mastodon... ?
Maybe this comment is off topic but here I go, I had a Twitter account that I had closed sometime ago because of all the progressive crap going on on the platform at the Time, with the Elon Musk take over I might come there back again, time will tell! Anyways, it would be cool if LM had an account i...

Re: Linux Mint 21 and NVIDIA drivers
@ OP: Hi, there is a Youtube channel called "if not true then false" that shows you how to install nvidia unsupported gpu drivers manually on Linux, using the command line, but keep in mind it may or may not work for you, hope this helps, cheers!

Re: How to Enable Wifi?
Hi, please look if the Wi-Fi switch on the laptop, if you are using a laptop if it is turned off, check that out, on some laptops you turn the Wi-Fi on or off using the keyboard, on others is a switch on the sides of the laptop, also use the additional drivers utilility on LM to see if you need some...

The way I see it you got 2 options, install LM 20.3 for the time being or Windows 10 or 11, please do not blame Linux, it's not Linux fault is Nvidia's fault.

Re: Ideas for my Linux hating daughter?
I have decided as part of my retirement, I am going to get an inexpensive used laptop and put Linux on it and give it to my oldest daughter to play with. Best Buy has some pretty decent prices on older business grade laptops that I can get. Other than Linux Mint-Cinnamon, what would be a good begin...

...I'm listening to Eurobeats, my neighbors too, if you know what I mean! I know what you mean. And I also know that if you were one of my neighbors, you would be having a little conversation with the police and the manager of the mobile home court I live in. 😯😲😅😁 In my defense I have to say that I...

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I mostly listen to salsa music and heavy metal/hard Rock but right now I'm listening Eurobeats from Initial D anime series on my Panasonic home stereo while sanding, cleaning and varnishing mahogany ladder of my home!
P.S. while I'm listening to Eurobeats, my neighbors too, if you know what I mean!
