Re: No sound through display port output
Oh my god, I'm so embarrased, I assumed the monitor had internal speakers! I plugged my headphones into the aux jack and it works great.
I'm sorry for the false notice and thanks so much for your help!

Re: .profile not being executed
.profile is only supposed to be sourced for login shells (ssh session for example). If you're just opening a terminal window once you've logged into your desktop, only .bashrc is to be sourced.

Re: Uninstalled Gnome-Panel, can't get past login screen.
The last line is weird, your eth0 interface configuration is commented... Try to put it in a different line
Code: Select all
# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
# The primary network interface
allow-hotplug eth0
#NetworkManager#
iface eth0 inet dhcp

Re: MintMenu *extremely* slow to load
I agree, the loading of icons shouldn't be blocking everything and making mintMenu unresponsive for more than a minute...
Cheers!

Re: MintMenu *extremely* slow to load
OK, after some research I solved the problem for my specific case. I hope the steps below help someone. First I tried disabling some startup applications, but after a while I realized that they are not actually loaded by mintMenu... so that was not the issue. The problem are the specific launchers d...

Re: [Solved] Ubuntu One in Linux Mint 10?
Did it work?
I installed it and the tray icon doesn't work. Neither do the folder ribbons.
Thanks.

Re: mintMenu disappears upon login
Same issue here. My workaround is to killall mintmenu and then choose reload.
