gnome-session-fallback default in Linux Mint 12
Hi, I think that it would be a good idea to use gnome-session-fallback as the default desktop to get the old Gnome 2 feel of the desktop with Gnome 3 and GTK3 underneath. I good thing could be to communize the fallback desktop to look exactly like Gnome 2 and then I think Gnome 2 lovers could be hap...

Re: Terminal history
Fixed it. Just renamed .bash_logout to .bash_logout_old and then the terminal remembers my history. In .bash_logout I can read that the reason why the history-feature has been disabled, is to increase the level of privacy. Linux Mint is a distribution which mission is to be easy to use, and it's not...

Terminal history
Hi
I use Linux Mint 7 Main Edition x86 on my Eee S101 and I have a problem.
If I open a Terminal the history is empty. Is the a special Mint-feature and how do I fix that, so I can see my previous history and use !cat commands?
Regards Louis

Re: MintUpdate doesn't update all packages
well, there's always X forwarding: just add a "-X" flag to your normal ssh command, then test it with e.g. xeyes. Basically it forwards any relevant graphical data. You should then be able to launch mintupdate with gksudo mintupdate. Yes, you can manually set various holds if you prefer, ...

Re: MintUpdate doesn't update all packages
Louis: there're many tools that will allow you to upgrade your system, but only mintUpdate provides the "levels" capability to decide what's safe and what's not, all the others will just install others, regardless of the fact that the update is known to cause problems in some circumstance...

Some ideas about MintUpdate and MintInstall
I think, that Linux mint is a very easy distribution, and it's stable too. I haven't had a crash with Firefox 3 on Mint yet and on Ubuntu Hardy is was crashing often. But one thing I think is a showstopper is the upgrade-process from one Mint release to another. Therefore got this idea: What about b...

I think Linux Mint is a good distro, but: I don't like that you have removed Gimp, Games, Rhythmbox and OpenOffice.org 2.4 with the locale language packs. I also Don't like that you have added the KDE app Amarok. It fill with KDE libs. And if you inkclude Rhythmbox insted you've space to more Gnome ...
