Re: Input from those who use electric shavers (facial hair)

What you probably haven't though of is if it's rechargeable is, CAN YOU RUN IT OFF THE CORD WHEN THE BATTERY DIES? I can't tell you how ticked that makes me if it can't. No matter how good you are, you're going to walk in there to shave one day and the battery will be dead. If it won't run off the ...

Re: Google may kill Chrome's URL bar

While it would display more of the webpage, I feel it's just stupid that Google thinks they need to do away with the navigation bar. It's only a few more pixels, right? The 'Compact' version is just ugly. To me, it's just too asymmetrical, but that may be my OCD talking. The mock-up is...rough...bu...

Even Adobe and Google acknowledge that Flash performance sucks, and engineers from both companies are reportedly working on improving Flash performance. Isn't the world supposed to be moving away from Flash and onto HTML5? Hardware : Only one USB port is the sort of design decision that Apple used ...

Re: I got a CR-48 in the mail today from Google

Thoughts about Chrome OS? Well, look at here: Google's ChromeOS means losing control of data, warns GNU founder Richard Stallman Webmail (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, etc) has been around since 1996. Web file storage (DropBox, SugarSync, Amazon S3, etc) has been around since 2006. Not to mention all...

Waiting (aka hoping) for mine. It is somewhat limiting, not being able to actually install anything... but then again, there's so much you can do on-line today that there's little need for client-side programs. Thank you, waldo, for the link to the explanation of the name. It was almost interesting....

Re: Top 5 Ways Windows is Better Than Unix or Linux

If you look at the article and read the explanations of each of the points, it's hard to argue with their definition of 'best productivity desktop' ('desktop' should've been replaced with 'OS').

I'd say it's impossible to argue with point five.

Thanks for the clarification, svalbard.

"Can" and "do" are most certainly not the same thing.

I still don't understand all the Google hate, but whatever. Last post for me in this thread.

Not sure if it's trespassing per se but it's not entirely legal. Can you stand in the street and take pictures into people's windows? Did the pictures show the interior, or strictly the exterior? Re: Google's Chrome 8: What's New, What's Next

Google Chrome 8 looks the same as the original Beta. A lot has changed internally but that doesn't warrant an entire version number change. Are they trying to compete with Opera or IE for the highest version number? Who are you to say how a person or company uses version numbers? Why does it even m...
