First off, check the specs on your dvdplayer, if you see the Xvid, wma etc.... badging chances are you can play .avi burnt as a data disc ( just keep in mind that they need to be under 2GB or the player will not be able to use them. as for converting, devede and avidemux are my choices.

I have heard of this and the solution is one of two things, 1 - he needs to move the entire contents of the mini dvd to a single chapter in devede and create a chapter for each import, without that there will be corruption and errors, next he needs to set the devede settings to match the recorder, I...

Well a good ripper will provide a few things, select output path and type, it will pull all the goodies like tags and info with it

OMG, pic is 714 kB :lol: Hint compression: sudo aptitude install gimp Then save pic to .jpg w. cca 60-80% compression :wink: well sorry if it didn't meet your higher standards, but gimp does come will most gnome installs and i am a little cramped for time as i need to get to work, i thot it be nice...

I would suggest trying cheese.

Maybe try copying the whole cd/dvd to a folder on the desktop and run it that way, also you may need to look into wine tricks to get some dependencies sorted out.

68 really not ultra high imo for an amd, they like heat anyways, but also have you looked to the vendor site to see if there are any updates for the bios, i know that both ASRock and asus had updates some time ago for properly handling cpu features and what not
