Re: All Desktop Screenshots of 2024

All i did was to load the live of mint 22 MATE on a virtualbox and changed the theme and panel layout slightly. luna-brisk.jpg chicago-brisk.jpg aero-brisk.jpg Did notice that its not 100% compatible to ubuntu mate 22.04. There are some changes . These combined GUI boxes look so fun! Which version ...

Re: external USB hard drive suddenly unmountable. please help.[SOLVED]

Well!! So I plugged it into the windows machine to copy over data and the windows machine immediately said "this drive is bad, scan and repair" I let windows scan it which took a little over 5 mins, then repair it which took under 2 minutes. Then I plugged it into the Linux box and it auto...

Re: external USB hard drive suddenly unmountable. please help.

Evidently I have gotten off easy with my other WD external drive that swaps out between my win machines and my linux boxes without issue. This drive is not behaving like that, and Koentje just confirmed that formatting it ext4 is the way to go to guarantee dependable mounting on the linux box. I am ...

Re: external USB hard drive suddenly unmountable. please help.

Does this give any indication of how to troubleshoot? i've not used windows or a drive formatted as ntfs for some time so i don't know for sure. logansfury@OptiPlex-5040:~$ sudo mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 3). Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please? [SOLVED]

I can clean up that code quite a bit. Those edits were just using copy/paste to represent the idea. I kinda liked seeing the whole thing go uncontrollably blaring red all of a sudden! -but wondering if the whole active bar should be represented by the current color. It looks good and clean, and cle...

Re: external USB hard drive suddenly unmountable. please help.

have you tried mounting the partition manually to see if that works or gives you more info? sudo mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt Hello, Thank you for joining the thread. I'm not educated on computers and this is the first time a plug and play device has failed to do so, so I had no knowledge of that command. ...

Re: cannot get installer to work on 2nd computer

Eh, i have no experience on that whatsoever, but Mega can be a trusty site, and safe too, if we're on the same page. Unless it's not mega.io . You still should try getting the files from wherever else. Sure, it'll take a while, but that can tell you if the problem is the files or the VM. :D Hello K...

I think the colors do fade into each other when you set them to 0.5 instead of 1.0.
I haven't, I am a bit groggy today from a crappy night trying to sleep. I may crash for a bit then experiment with the gauges more when I am more alert.

cannot get installer to work on 2nd computer

Hello everyone, I just completed following the instructions to put MacOS Monterey v12.6.5 on Oracle VirtualBox. I started by putting it on my backup HP machine, and it installed perfectly on the first attempt. Unlike the tutorial for Catalina v10.15.7 for VB, this macOS actually functions. Unlike th...

Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please? [SOLVED]

Is the whole thing supposed to turn red? or it turns the whole thing each successive color? I don't know what the intention was because the original wasn't working correctly using the "alarm" part anyway, -obviously why the original code had a 0 there. Screenshot_2024-07-10_22-59-58.png T...

Hello everyone, I have a gauge template with a half-circle gauge, and the outside arc is half green, half red. Is there any way to add 2 more colors to this? I would like green to take up half, then a yellow colored part of the arc, followed by an orange colored part and ending in red. I edited an a...

Those seem like excellent suggestions, I will try what you suggested.

Thank you!

Need a timer applied to a part of the boot process, macOS on QEMU

OOOH, me likes the one of Tux riding the USB stick! That was one of the seven free stickers the vendor included along with 9 Mint stickers after only charging me for 6. Very generous guy. I was happy to note this Tux riding the flash drive has the same glossy feet as the sticker version I chose for...
