Re: Conky Showoff thread 2024

I found some cartoon character music notes and assigned one to show on playerctl status = Stopped and another for Playing. Made a Cartoon char themed NowPlaying by borrowing code from the Mimosa conky. Rounded border added for conformity. This monitor real estate is coming along nicely :) https://i....

How difficult is it to make a custom theme for Cairo-Dock?

Hello all, I have cairo-dock running on a virtual machine and have found some beautiful themes for it. but not exactly what I was hoping to find. How difficult would it be to make a custom theme that was just a 1 pixel outline around a 100% transparent dock with rounded corners that is dynamic and e...

Re: Conky Showoff thread 2024

Here we go! I took an existing small weather widget with cartoon style icon set and added faces to them in GIMP to match the Minimalis characters. I like this darker blue and am going to set the Minimalis blues to this tone. I got the rounded-corner outline lua's applied to both and Koentje's transp...

Re: Conky Showoff thread 2024

I found another cartoon character for the set!! Say hello to the PC character. I have replaced live gauge tracking cpu0 load in MHz with the PC image and the ${nodename} display. I love the addition of the char and everything looks more balanced now without gauges split between top and bottom. Check...

Re: Conky Showoff thread 2024

But i see other artifacts... artifacts.png The .lua was an extensive edit of one of the templates you gave me by the ChatGPT, so not surprising that weird things are happening. I am just happy that I am getting accurate reading and a clean display with the individual files. I also just got an outli...

Koentje wrote: Sun Oct 06, 2024 10:48 pm Why do you use seperate lua files and seperate conky's for each cpu gauge???
I started with a single .lua containing all the gauges but for whatever reason, this broke the functionality of the outer numerals changing color.

Here is a better example of the files you need with the proper names: cpu1 --[[ Bleys 2024 ]] conky.config = { -- — Conky settings alignment = 'middle_right', gap_x = -138, gap_y = -340, xinerama_head = 2, background = false, total_run_times = 0, no_buffers = true, -- — Window specifications with Ba...

Re: Conky Showoff thread 2024

The lua is using a basic conky command to get the load percentage and display from 0-100% no edits should be necessary You can place the conf and .lua anywhere as long a they are in the same directory. I have mine bundled in the cartoon minimalis directory I did that, but I have nothing on my deskt...

Re: Conky Showoff thread 2024

It looks like you may have changed the name of the .lua file. Did you make sure to edit the name of the .lua file called from the config file to match? I'm not completely sure if naming the file ".lua" is acceptable to conky, you may need to edit that to "gauge.lua" or something...

OK. I did it like this and added wizard10000 from the page you mentioned. I'm still just interested in the CPU cores usage percentage. Each of the 17 gauges in the cartoon Minimalis are individual config and .lua files. Here is what they look like: config --[[ Bleys 2024 ]] conky.config = { -- — Co...

When doing CPU load in percentage or MHz readout, I ...

Opinions please!

I took the real conky (right side of picture) and re-assembled it in GIMP on the left side with the items in slightly different order. Which looks better?
