Re: Can nslookup and ping via terminal; cannot connect to Internet through browser, after browser launched

First of all let me thank all of whom offered assistance, it was and is appreciated. I took the recommended work around and purchased another wifi component. Though I would have preferred an internal card as the T440 only has two usb ports I was also aware that some Lenovo models will not boot with ...

Re: Can nslookup and ping via terminal; cannot connect to Internet through browser, after browser launched

Greetings T42, The output from the command was large, I redirected it to a file and it was 1255 KB. So I examined the file for some time and realized the first entry in the file for each boot essentially loaded the wifi driver(loaded firmware version...). So I extracted two examples, one in this pos...

Coggy wrote: Mon Nov 27, 2023 9:11 am Yes, that would prove the point - that it's not something screwy in your browser config. I doubt that's the case, but it's easy to eliminate.
I ran Mint in Live mode and had the same issue, as you expected.

kindest regards,

Re: Can nslookup and ping via terminal; cannot connect to Internet through browser, after browser launched

Another possible test is to create a new user account and try using a browser from there - getting away from any strange settings that may have crept into your user account. Coggy, Thanks again. So I have a Linux Mint installation on a usb I have been using as well as running Linux Mint in Live mod...

Re: Can nslookup and ping via terminal; cannot connect to Internet through browser, after browser launched

Coggy, First of all let me thank you for all the assistance you afforded me; it is greatly appreciated. I am guessing since I tried this on 13 different distros with the same result that I likely, by default, probably tested different kermels, especially since 2 distros were Arch based. You wrote: M...

Re: Can nslookup and ping via terminal; cannot connect to Internet through browser, after browser launched

Coggy, Once again, many thanks to you. Each test is presented with the second terminal(ping) presented first even tough it was executed after the first terminal(tcpdump). Thank you, The Scarlet Pimpernel You can try to reduce what is captured by only starting tcpdump immediately before running the p...

Re: Can nslookup and ping via terminal; cannot connect to Internet through browser, after browser launched

Coggy, First off, thank you. The result of the tcpdump is far more than 50 lines and when i attempt to post the results I run into a forum limitation, as follows: POST A REPLY Your message contains 203713 characters. Re: Can nslookup and ping via terminal; cannot connect to Internet through browser, after browser launched

Was the "run" in the command run ping -c3 192.168.1.254 not intended? The reason I ask is, in attempting this I received the following: countesschocula@countesschocula-Lenovo:~$ run ping -c3 192.168.1.254 Command 'run' not found, did you mean: command 'crun' from deb crun (0.17+dfsg-1.1) c...

For clarity, “we” are running three other laptops in the same household, two are on Linux(Bodhi and Q4OS), one on Windows and are used 14+ hours a day; they do not experience wifi issues.
