Also I'm not so sure you have looked at their webpage recently as their computers offer a lot more specs for a better price (Excuse my above agreement). Here is the "Pangolin Performance" Notebook: See link for verification: http://www.system76.com/ -whtlime Okay, at that price HERE are the specs.....

Re: A Thinkers Feed

First thing . . . "Nice quote from Steve Ballmer". You are definitely right about the the System76's being overpriced. However, reformatting the drive for a computer doesn't make use of all hardware available. Aside from hardware, driver support is always an issue for ALL Linux users. So in this ca...

Re: A Thinkers Feed

I commend you for your vision and don't wish to discourage you. However, I would hazard a guess that the major hurdle you first have to overcome is to persuade manufacturers of printers, scanners and all those other peripherals which need drivers to write them for the Linux operating system. For ex...

Re: A Thinkers Feed

I believe it also worth mentioning that computers are only a beginning. What happens when that Ubuntu user goes to buy his/her mp3 player or phone? As web 2.0 pushes toward the cloud many devices are requiring syncing. Prime example: For my 3gs I have the Jawbone Icon Bluetooth headset. Ever try goi...

Re: A Thinkers Feed

Not only does System76 do the same, but Canonical as well. Still, therein lies their problem. Because Ubuntu does not own the hardware, expansion is DRASTICALLY slowed and profit is heavily minimized. It is also worth noting that when given the opportunity to develop a system that runs your own hard...

That said, I will need at much help as I can get. Now, you can continue reading if you do so wish. If not, well . . . I wish you well...

What is your question?

If there isn't one there is a section for software and hardware testing as well as bug fixes.

Re: System Modifications

Out of 23 packages that needed to be upgraded 13 weren't. Could anyone possibly help with system upgrades? This is what it tells me: The following packages have been kept back: bind9-host dnsutils libbind9-40 libdns45 libisc45 libisccc40 libisccfg40 liblwres40 linux-generic linux-headers-generic lin...

Re: New wallpaper - LM9 (Source included)

This wallpaper is horrible. If i'd say so myself the April fools jokes aren't over; what is this, a tribute to Windows? It looks like both, a windows background and login screen as well as a cater to anyone with an extinct processor. Come on Mint, let's do better; there are plenty of deviant art art...

Yes it was the OS. It is as you assumed, a synaptic message. It appeared in a window as an error message would, but it said that the system must be modified.

System Modifications

If there's a way to answer this question by giving a general answer that would answer any questions of the like related, I'd rather that answer so I can figure it out for myself; I just need to be pointed in the right direction. I am trying to play Eve Online, but when I try to open the installer th...
