This seems a lot like the macro function in OpenOffice. I'm not sure how your suggestion is different, except for being system wide. Is that the main thing you're suggesting?

With reference to the above post, I think it should be possible to use the Ubuntu minimal install disk and then use aptitude to install lxde from the repositories. I once installed Xubuntu on a similar machine with 256Mb and it ran SO so slow - far too slow to be usable. If LXDE is substantially lig...

I've just installed Mint (Gnome edition) after using Kubuntu for the past year or two, and I have to say that I'm very impressed. Everything just works so much better! Well done to everybody involved - you've got yet another convert.
