Thanks richyrich, my mint-fortune file did not look exactly like that but I was able to get it though.

[Solved] How Do I Get Rid Of The Terminal Humor ?

I don't know what it is called but when I open a terminal, at the top is the text that I think is supposed to be some kind of humor. The last time I installed Mint I believe it gave me an option eiither at install time or my first boot up to disable this, but I either missed it when I was installing...

cannot create directory `/dev/sdc1' ok, me bad ! I'll remember that.....thanks Did not need to remove it though because it removed itself after a reboot. Check that /media/usb really exists in case it's a really nasty error No errors, everything is good, it just mounts the usb flash drive as /media...

I would download the Gparted Live CD partitioner and wipe out that partition with it. Reformat it with a fat file system, and then throw in some pictures and music files, so on and so forth, make it look like you are using it for storage, and keep your fingers crossed.

One does not need any special software to edit the Menu.lst, any text editor is fine. Just comment out by using the # in front of anything you do not want to see in the grub menu when booting.
