I had same problem in a computer. I could not solve it. Somebody told me, it is an 'infinite loop' while loading a hardware.

Hope, seowon-swu3400an will run on linux someday.

Re: Stock market charting software for linux
Thank you DataMan.
I know spreadsheet-like programs can create charts from csv files, but these are not so comfortable.
(may be I have to use amibroker via wine )

Re: How to speed up Fluxbox?
You can disable services that you do not use or use only rarely... e.g. I usually disable printing and bluetooth. You can do this using the 'sysv-rc-conf' command line tool. If you don't know what a service is from the name, just search on google or for the package in synaptic and it will tell you....

[SOLVED] How to speed up Fluxbox
Hi all, I am happily using fluxbox in a slow computer. It will be nice to speed up more, because sometimes it takes 'unusually longer time' to open a file / program. Please advise me, how to speed up fluxbox (linux mint 8 fluxbox CE). increase the size of swap partition? (I can do it, I have some di...

Re: Putting icons on desktop/quicklaunch bar
Change it to Mouse2 and it will be middle-click instead of right click. If you have more buttons on your mouse, you can pick one of those. m a r EDIT: you could also add a modifier button -- Mod1 Mouse3 would be the ALT button + right-click. Here is a recent page explaining. That page also suggests...

Re: Putting icons on desktop/quicklaunch bar
Try adding: OnToolbar Mouse3 :rootMenu to your ~/.fluxbox/keys file. Reload config or restart fluxbox. Right-click anywhere on the toolbar will show the menu. Thanks a lot. It works. But unfortunately it over-works! If I right-click on any taskbar icon, root menu pops up, so how can I use these ico...

Re: Putting icons on desktop/quicklaunch bar
Look at a package called idesk. It enables you to have desktop icons in Fluxbox. There are instructions in the Fluxbox wiki. I really can't give you much more information here as I never use desktop icons (even in Gnome and KDE). Thanks kendall. I was looking for such a package. Actually I need 'me...

Then I entered 'nautilus --no-desktop' , then nautilus opened without harming the desktop. If I open nautilus via menu, it kills the desktop. from now on, I will open n...

Yes I was browsing files (of ntfs partition) with nautilus. I can not browse these with thunar. Though I mounted these partitions. Now, I will install nautilus again and enter this code in terminal: ''nautilus --no-desktop''. I will inform you tomorrow about the result. (Now it is bed time here). Th...

Re: Internet USB key Huawei E1550
Huawei USB modems are very frequently used in my country. I found, it is a plug and play device in linux mint (whereas windows needs driver to be installed). As remoulder already said, just configure it from the taskbar icon for network. No 'modeswitch' is needed (at least I did not need). plug the ...

Same thing happened in my side. My system is mute when I boot it, though sound was high during shut down. But it was ok for the last one month (means, newly installed linux mint is ok). Recently I did some works, like: system update, installing some new software via software-manager (real-player, gn...
