Re: qca9377 fix

This was not a problem but a possible fix to the slow speeds some were having with that adapter.

Re: LMDE2 Betsy installer window size problem

If you can get past the installer normal operation works fine at 1024x600. So far just an installer issue. However I would also test the welcome screen at vga and svga resolution.

BUG Re: LMDE2 Betsy installer window size problem

I have now replicated this issue on both a Dell Mini 9 and an eee pc 900. The installer menu does not work correctly when the y resolution is less than 768(a scroll down bar or a scaling window on the menu when the y resolution is less than 768 would fix this). This is NOT a debian bug, this is a Li...

Re: LMDE2 Betsy installer window size problem

Same problem I have a Dell Mini 9 with this issue, I worked around it by just hitting enter a bit, but 1024x600 is not so uncommon that the installer windows should be too big.

Ubuntu Mate...good bad or meh?

I think its a good thing. Having another Mate-ubuntu based distribution is a sign that direction is the right one. Having another set of eyes on the code I could imagine to be a good thing too.

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking TESTING - updated 15 May

THANK YOU! You saved my ass! I had the same problem. Im guessing for future reference to reinstall the nvidia drivers before I reboot after any new kernel install. Now that you've got the driver installed using dkms, it'll be rebuilt automatically on kernel upgrades. dkms = Dynamic Kernel Module Su...

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking TESTING - updated 15 May

Qapla'! It turned out the phrase that paid was sudo apt-get install nvidia-kernel-dkms nvidia-glx build-essential nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig --reinstall I can't tell y'all how nice it is to be back up and running with the GUI. Note to self: Stop upgrading with sudo apt- fast dist-upgrade. Apt-g...

Re: Mate Desktop Environment - GNOME2 fork

I like Cinnamon but I still think its gonna take quite a bit longer to get that to where I want it. MATE is gnome 2.32 more or less which is more than good enough for me, and the more recent versions seem to be very stable. Gnome-shell is a mess, Gnome classic is just usable enough to get MATE and C...

Update Feedback

I like the look of cinnamon but its still too glitchy, which may be a ATI driver problem or something else. HOWEVER, Mate has incredibly leaped forward since its first iteration. The newest version of MATE seems very stable and very clean. I would like to see a customized version of MATE for Linux M...

Default DE for LMDE for Update pack 4?

Ubuntu in THIRD on distrowatch for 30 day count

Mint has taken the top spot for the last thirty days, Fedora in 2nd and ubuntu in 3rd.

Whats even more interesting is that Mint has passed ubuntu by in page hits for the 3 month marker as well.
