As it says, you need a longer password. Cant recall the minimum that Mint will accept but obviously the longer the better. Plus have a mix of lowercase, uppercase, numeric and special characters if possible.

OK, I've found the culprit - sort of. I was running my laptop on battery power and the problem existed, the battery was getting low so I switched to mains power - problem went away. This is mine. I have two AWN docks - the main one at the bottom and the top one with just the taskmanager and notification area - and two conky displays. The left one picks up info from my google calender. The wallpaper is the cosmos slideshow with one or two extra images. Regards my-screenshot.png
