Re: Hardware Health Utility

Search for "health" in the system Software Manager and sort through the many results to find which ones are actually what you are looking for.

Re: Printer recommendation for LMDE

Brother Inkvestment tank printers have go much longer on a tank than a cartridge printer does on a cartridge, but you just replace rather than refilling the tanks, so they are more of a hybrid. Some people say that tank printers make a lower quality print than laser or inkjet, but I can't really say...

Re: Open application tab missing in panel - Cinnamon 21.3

Right-click on the panel, then click on "Applets." In the manage tab of Applets, search for or scroll to "Grouped window list" (grouped-window-list@cinnamon.org), click on it, and then click on the plus symbol at the bottom of the window.

Re: Automatic screen rotation offset from what it should be

What happens if you set the screen rotation to "portrait left"? That should correct it even though real portrait left is probably not what you want.

Perhaps the double click clears the selection and only opens one document by design?
I think so. Try pressing the enter key instead of clicking once you have the documents selected.

I am using the PPA, and every time I update it gives the same message. I think all of those things are optional extras.

Re: How much up time is normal?

I don't think any kernel update can actually take place until its downloaded and the box is restarted, however. Correct? You are correct. It just depends how much you care about keeping the kernel up to date. I find that the simplest tasks can leave my cursor spinning something like a kaleidoscope ...

Re: Automatic scrolling, zooming

I guess you are not carrying your mouse between work and home? Some of these issues sound like something that could happen if middle click (pressing the scroll wheel down) is stuck on. Another thing that can happen sometimes is the Super (Windows logo) or Ctrl key getting locked somehow and making e...

Re: Wayland - black screen, and then can't run Cinnamon

If I try to log in with Wayland with the normal user account I get the black screen, but once I reboot I can log in to regular Cinnamon like always. However, if I create a new test user account, I can log in with Wayland just fine.

Many people view high up time as proof that an OS is stable enough to go a long time without crashing. Let it go as long as you please.

Re: things sent to printer get held after printer goes to "sleep"

"Printer Shutdown" is what is showed in the screenshot. I don't think that a print job can boot the printer up when it is shut down, but I don't know for sure. "Printer Sleep" is what you want to set to happen after a short period of time.

This will let you have the latest version all the ...

Re: Program that told me what is preventing suspend

The Inhibit applet (inhibit@cinnamon.org) can do this, but you must click, not just hover, on the icon to see which program is preventing suspend. Just search for or navigate to "Applets" from the Mint menu, and then in the download tab of Applets search for or navigate to the "Inhibi...
