Alas Hibernation does not work on my laptop. I just get a black screen with flashing cursor at the top left when I try to hibernate :cry:

I have similar issues. I can set Horizontal for either 1, 3 or 4. If I set it to 2, after a few seconds it changes to 4. Strangely, I am able to set it to 1 horizontal and 2 vertical unlike yourself! Hi All, Resuming my Dell Laptop from suspend frequently (60-70%) of the time causes one of two issues. The laptop uses nVidia drivers if this is an issue. I use these for compiz. When you boot up the PC, you get a green menu (after about 5-10 seconds) The top option will say Linux Mint. At this point, press the down arrow on your keyboard and select the recovery mode option.

Midnighter, The point I am trying to make is that for the majority of users, Windows 7 would be an easier install than linux and would give a completely functional OS in a quicker time. DISCLAIMER: It should be known that I think Windows 7 and MAC OSX are good operating systems. No-one can deny that these OSes just work out of the box (Ok, so you DO need to install Antivirus on Win7), and in general, they please the masses and fulfill what they want of a PC. I'm a tinkerer at heart...
