Re: Solved: Upgrade to T'bird 60.2.1 zaps Lightning Calender add-on

I have been using TBird with Lightning for several years (since LM8) up until the recent TBird update which (as the post states) "Upgrade to T'bird 60.2.1 zaps Lightning Calender add-on". Lightning is the ONLY add-on I use so going thru the file menus took me to the Add-ons page where the...

As Linux users we're very used to making changes and not needing to reboot.
I had to reboot before the solution worked so for anyone who hasn't rebooted try that.
Than you for your suggestion but I tried the reboot also with out any luck. :-(

Re: Solved: Upgrade to T'bird 60.2.1 zaps Lightning Calender add-on

Install that file via synaptic again !!! Just click or right click on it, then select re-install ... As long as that add-on is visible in Thunderbird, it's not going to work ... . Thank you for your prompt reply. I have 're-installed' the file via Synaptic several times. It shows it has been instal...

Re: Solved: Upgrade to T'bird 60.2.1 zaps Lightning Calender add-on

Assuming that you've been updating Thunderbird until at least a month ago ... Make sure that the lightning file, as shown below, has been installed via synaptic package manager. Also make sure that your current Thunderbird has the lightning addon ... but in disabled state, due to incompatibility. I...

First off: A BIG thank you to all who helped :!: :!: :!: I too, updated Thunderbird and suddenly found my calender was missing. After plowing (ploughing?) through the internet and searching this forum I found the tip to install "xul-ext-lightning" from Synaptic, remove Lightning as Add-On...

Look for the little "Switch to the Calendar Tab" icon in the upper right hand corner (it should be next to the "tasks tab" that was there before). Clicking on it should bring up the Calendar tab.
No icon or tasks tab. Part of the problem I suspect.

Re: Finally Solved for me: Upgrade to T'bird 60.2.1 zaps Lightning Calender add-on

Note: THIS IS NOT SOLVED FOR ME. (Do I need to open a new ticket?) I tried ajgreeny's suggestion and installed [xul-ext-lightning version 60.2.1] from the synaptic package manager but it had no effect when I restarted T-Bird. How do I link it to the updated version of T-Bird? Thanks! Mint 18.3 64 bi...

Re: Error message when trying to update. Medibuntu - Solved

Thank you Pjotr & Killer de bug! That was the problem. -

This was on old hardware that struggled to run LM 17 xfce so I installed LM 13 xfce (LTS) and it runs fine. I will make a note in the DVD jacket in case I try to recycle any more "old hardware" with LM 13. :-)

Re: [Solved]Mint 17 XFCE unable boot post install-Grub2 Prob

from gold_finger following is just a wild guess for another installation attempt. In Mint 13 the installer's slideshow program caused problems on some people's computers. The installation would stall out and not complete correctly. Maybe something similar is happening to you with the Mint 17 install...

Re: How to Configure Section Monitor in X.Org?

Unfortunately, I was trying to reinstall LM13 Mate on another partition of that system and selected the LM17 xfce partition instead : I would suggest that you routinely make backup images of your Mint partitions. I use Clonezilla , which rarely fails if used correctly. Also consider having separate...

Re: How to Configure Section Monitor in X.Org?

The "sample" config file I "modified" had additional "Sections" that must have caused the crash I first experienced. Can you post the file you used. An xorg.conf file usually has more sections but they are sometimes optional. Then the X.Org X Server will create default...

Yes, the first thing I tried was to change the display settings. That was when I discovered the native resolution (1440x900) was not in the list.
