Re: LMDE 4 64bit ISO, INstaller only in Romanian?

Hehehe. I'll defer to the others in the forum. Otherwise we will wind up having a very enjoyable discussion about ping times, latency, trace-routes and DNS leaks. And not help the OP with his question...,,, think I will stick with the suggestion of downloading a fresh copy and temporarily disabling ...

Re: LMDE 4 64bit ISO, INstaller only in Romanian?

Don't think there is much chance of an US Internal VPN doing the round trip to Romainia,... to get to New York. ( btw..who is the provider?) Either you have a DNS leak, the VPN is compromised, or the ISO you downloaded has a glitch. Regardless,.... download a fresh copy, disable the VPN and it shoul...

Re: LMDE 4 64bit ISO, INstaller only in Romanian?

There are a number of possibilities here... but it "sounds" like either your VPN or Router is mis-configured or compromised. Check your Routers DNS. There is also the remote possibility that your VPN provider has been compromised. (assuming it's not a private P2P link) Do you get the same issue when...

Re: Thermaltake Duet USB ext drive dock

Anythng is possible, but I doubt that having an EFI partition on the drive makes any difference. If the HW is functioning, your "Disk"s Utility or GParted should show the USB/SATA connector and the two HDDs with their partitions. If there is something weird with one the paritions or the drive FAT/GP...

Re: Thermaltake Duet USB ext drive dock

Have you tried comparing the output from hwinfo from lmde4 & LM19.3 with the dock installed and loaded with two drives?
That may give a clue on the cause of the issue.

Re: Harmonizing/unifying two Home directories

Hello James. The short answer is, yes it is possible. But you first need to be aware of the contents of your home directory. Keeping simple, your home directory contains three types of files. 1. The visible data directories eg Docs, Music, Video etc.... These folders can be safely moved to another p...

Re: I did something

Your TV has a VGA input. Select this input on your TV, then connect a VGA cable to the VGA socket on the NVIDIA Card. If you don't see an image or if the TV says it can't connect, then try connecting the VGA cable to the other VGA socket for the embedded graphics. If this doesn't work then borrow a ...

Re: falling back to half of memory

You haven't provided any info on the motherboard, so it makes it hard to offer suggestions. But have you checked the Man for the Mem Config Options? Most MBs have a number of options for the mem slot usage. Also wondering if you have an Auto-Overcock / Tuning option running in the BIOS. Something th...

Re: I did something

You are going to have to provide more information on your hardware. Are you using a TV / Smart TV or a Monitor? Does your PC have integrated graphics, a seperate Graphic Card or both? What graphic output sockets does your PC have ? The error message sounds like the TV/Panel can't see the graphic sig...

Re: Sharing a Windows-shared folder in Mint as well.

There are a number of options to set up shared folders, but its a good idea to read the Forum Rules in the header before posting a question.
The community can't help you if you don't provide enough information.

Check the settings on your player. USB connections usually need to be tagged as charging or file transfer.
It may have reset itself to charging only.

Re: Grsync-related

Hello Peter. Since you enjoy pushing boundaries, can I suggest the following strategy. Use a separate partition for all data. This includes your mail files, app databases, docs, music, videos etc. Change the paths in your apps to point at the new locations and replace the original docs, music, video...

What is the machine and what OS was it running before?

Welche Version von "Mint" verwenden Sie?
Welche Sprachen haben Sie installiert?
Auf welche Sprache ist Ihre lokale Einstellung eingestellt?

Probably also better to post in the DE forum
