Chrome OS CR-48

I installed LMDE 32bit on their machine using their instructions for ubuntu installs and adjusting the partition size to make it a bit bigger. It is a great thing the new lmde, to never have reinstall another time.. I had no issues with the 32 bit... works like a champ.

Re: Adding add-apt-repository *USE WITH CAUTION*

The only thing that isn't working is winff as i mentioned before in another post but i am using sinthgunt which does basicly the same thing. the advantage to winff is i get to chose the output directory sinthgunt creates the converted file in the source directory with the exact same name but with th...

Re: Adding add-apt-repository *USE WITH CAUTION*

Well, if debian had the files i wanted, it would be easier to just install them from debian. The only other option is to build all the things i want from source. I don't mind building from source but when installing a new distro and wanting it all up and working right away, building from source can ...

Adding add-apt-repository *USE WITH CAUTION*

download python-software-properties_0.75.4_all.deb from ubuntu repos and you can use launchpad to add rpos with the add-apt-repository command to add a ppa in automated fashion. Sometimes you will need to edit the source file in etc/apt/sources.list.d directory i use ubuntu-tweak to access these fil...

Re: How could this have been missed? (with a RC release)

Most install errors are due to a bad download. use a bittorrent to download. it has hash checking to ensure a proper download. i have transmission running for 17 hrs non-stop and my share ratio .0.45 when it would normally be 2 or 3 at least for another distro by now. This tells me few people are us...

Re: Does the current Linux Mint DVD have the sound fixed . .

install gnome alsa mixer and turn up the volume on pcm and you'll have no problems with sound volume, if the volume is the issue... always is with me... ubuntu-tweak works well lmde64 and includes many useful tools, including the repository for opera which is easily added.... are you familiar with u...

Re: Configuring Bootloader . . .

bittorrents have hash checking to ensure a proper download.... an experienced user know to never use anything else to download if you can help it. it eliminates so many problems and so much wasted time blaming the distro creators for a bad build when you really got a bad download...... I have lmde64...

LMDE 64 working good

I have one issue and it's with winff which I really do use a lot but there is always sinthgut which does do the job but just isn't my preference... so this is a small issue. i get the following error in a terminal (winff wouldn't start from the menu) $ winff Runtime error 203 at $00000000004A7C96 $0...
