Re: dependency of mintinstall package

I know this is a minor-minor issue, and I don't expect developers to change (not 'fix') the dependency immediately. But there ARE some people who want to use mint tools on pure Debian, and, you know, it's nothing harmful to keep backward-compatibility. Anyway, I hope this post give some help to thos...

dependency of mintinstall package

Hi, I installed mintInstall on pure Debian (squeeze) without installing any mint meta packages. It didn't work at first, but I found that python-aptdaemon was not working, and this was because aptdaemon and python-pkg-resources were not installed. I think these packages (aptdaemon, python-pkg-resour...

Since when? Last I read Linux has around 60%, BSD 30% and Windows 10% of the Server market share?
Oops, the data I saw was based the sales.
Of course, MS earns tons of money.

Re: Reasons You Hate Windows

I don't like Windows, because it contains some arguable features, and Microsoft is truly an evil. However, Windows does work in the situations in which the system is intended to work. The fact that Windows is the most popular server OS proves this. Also, Windows has gigantic volume of available soft...

Re: Installing a 32 bit package on 64 bit linux

I'm not sure but installing 32bit library may solve the problem.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
y'know, wine is very sophisticated. so it's really difficult to figure out why it's not working.

Re: Continued communications

You can use 'tcpdump' or WireShark to see the details of the traffic.
(these commands have to be run with root privilege.)

Re: wg311v3 - TKIP WPA-PSK connection issue

There has been a common problem with NDIS wrapper and WPA.
Lowering the priority of wpa_supplicant worked for many people. (related bug report on launchpad)

Code: Select all

sudo renice 19 `pidof wpa_supplicant`
This did work on my friend's laptop.

Re: What music player do you use on linux?

I don't use any music library software.
Instead, I keep my music directory well structured using EasyTAG and use default media player (Totem or mplayer) to play music.

I mean, EasyTAG is such a nice tool, so you might want to install it.

There are some tools for it, but I don't know what is where.
I recommend reading this Ubuntu wiki page, which describes the basic concept of building a customized live system.

Operating as expected - the most basic feature that propriety softwares rarely obtain.

As a laptop user, ya, I really love it too. Even windows 7 often fails to go into sleep mode.

Hi Everyone!

Hi! I'm Eon from Korea and have been a korean translator of linux mint for about 2 years. I'm currently staying in Canada as a foreign student, studying computer science at University of Waterloo. I used a different user name (though I rarely came here), but it seems to be deleted. Anyway, I decided...
