Re: 4.15 kernels blackscreen on boot

Are you using the Intel Xeon E3-1200 graphics controller driver or the generic Linux driver? I think we have to switch back to the Linux version prior to kernel upgrade. :?: When LM 17 had the big kernel upgrade, it killed my X-org file since i was running the Nvidia driver during upgrade. I had the...

Will the 18.3 ISO downloads have the New Kernel Update

Will the ISO 18.3 Mint downloads have the updated security kernel?

Or should I wait until the panic is over? Is there a Mint 18.4 coming to fix this???

Re: [SOLVED] "Unexpected Inconsistency: Run fsck Manually"

From what I read on your last post/picture, you've got a hard drive getting ready to fail. Those counts indicate bad sectors that grub/Windows/Linux could not read, hence the warning and the running of fsck. How old is the drive? Do you have a backup of your files? The hard drive is the original 1-...

Re: LMDE 64-bt wont boot Anymore

It is very similar to this but without being able to even get to the splash screen: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=124775 with: "Unexpected inconsistency; run fsck manually" shows up even in Recovery mode. All I can think of is the battery died last night and it shut off while in s...

[SOLVED] Bumble Bee on LMDE?

Has anyone installed BumbleBee yet? I have yet to and I am afraid to screw up my xorg like I have done many times in the past when it comes to driver installation. I'm still a newbie to compiling code and source trees. I still feeling like I need my hand held, LOL. Which is the easiest and proper in...

Re: LMDE vs Mint 13 for New Dell XPS 15?

I just installed dual boot with Win 7 last night, took about an hour so since I was taking my time with some interruptions. This was my first time using Debian partitioning, very interesting. Worked flawlessly, although it took me a while to figure how to switch between Cinnamon and MATE, noob... Ca...
