KDE NVIDIA prime system tray icon (SOLVED)

Hello, I'd like to know if it's possible to install the system tray icon Clem has mentioned for 17.2 in the KDE edition.

Re: Upgrade Warnings: LMDE tracking TESTING [12-08-13]

Just installed LMDE 2014 and pointed sources to testing. Glad to report nothing seems broken. Did get the message you mentioned and copied the file as su. No probs. Great job, I cannot tell the difference between main edition and LMDE (well, I can, but only because of locales changing and proprietar...

Re: Pixma MP560 multifunction.... nothings worked

Actually, the problem has been fixed since at least February 2012, thanks to a canon printer drivers repository.

Re: Enable compiz on Mate in Mint 15????

Be warned that this version of compiz has some issues, one of which (unclickable window borders on windows that start maximised) is particularly annoying and without a working work-around that I could find. I confirm that the bug exists. I have not found a way to prevent it from happening, but when...

Re: Poll: Desktop environments

I used Cinnamon since it came out and liked it, too; even though it was not the most responsive or configurable environment ever. Last week, by accident, when downloading mint 14, I picked the MINT iso. I played around with it. set it up with Compiz and what do you know? I like it better than Cinnam...

Re: how to switch between Cinnamon && MATE desktop

Hello, I have the same question. I installed Mint 14, Mate Version. I want to be able to switch back and forth between Cinnamon and Mate. However, when I try to install Cinnamon, I get an error message for the package mint-info-cinnamon, because it tries to overwrite a file from package mint-info-ma...

Re: installing acid rip?

AcidRip used to be one of my favourites, but it does not seem to be developed anymore. I would recommend that you try k9copy (see review here: http://www.linux.com/archive/feature/144541 and also my post on multimedia applications here: http://url.laspas.gr/8)

Re: Linux Mint Debian is now usable by almost anyone!

Thought I might just add a word of caution to this interesting discussion; directed to those who encourage taking LMDE and converting it to "Stable" repository base. This is an interesting point, actually! The notion never crossed my mind. However, by installing the current "LMDE liv...

Re: Linux Mint Debian is now usable by almost anyone!

I ran with LMDE for several months as you probably already know and am back on Mint 10 main edition...The breakages can be quite daunting and fixes aren't always that fast in coming...you really have to be INVOLVED with the system on an intimate basis....trying to figure out how to undo something t...

Re: Linux Mint Debian is now usable by almost anyone!

^What I was thinking too. Think many of the people running Mint's Debian based stuff aren't handling it the way they should. With the end result being the breakage blues. Could be wrong o course, that's just a theory and gut instinct about the topic. It seems to me that LMDE does not need to be twe...

Linux Mint Debian is now usable by almost anyone!

Source: http://url.laspas.gr/3g After I tried the December 2010 edition of Linux Mint Debian 64-bit http://url.laspas.gr/2m , I had come to the conclusion that it was not for me, as it was, and that I would rather stick with the Main edition of Linux Mint, built on the current Ubuntu base distributi...

Re: Pixma MP560 multifunction.... nothings worked

Well, setting up this printer in Mint Julia (10rc) was a real pain, but it finally worked. I have posted in my blog the following: http://laspas.gr/2010/11/10/getting-canon-pixma-mp560-to-work-in-mint-10rc-64bit-and-ubuntu-10-10/ When I effortlessly set up Pixma MP560 on my significant other’s windo...

Re: LMDE is not a beginners distro RUBISH, absolute piffle

Sorry for the shouting but it makes me angry when folk say such things. I've seen some post on the forum that state one way or another that LMDE is not for novices, you need some Linux experience. I have installed LMDE and love it, although I'd rather use the 64bit version. However, it can be trick...

OK, the solution is described in the Debian wiki: http://wiki.debian.org/Locale
