Re: Live install USB mounts read-only when plugged into my working machine
I have never investigated this but wouldn't it be better to edit the iso with isomaster and then write that?

Re: 32GB USB drive showing as 1.8GB??
Has it been used before for something? In the past - using openSUSE imagewriter with it's own .iso's seems to create some different partitioning on the usb The solution over there and can be used in Mint too is https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Live_USB_stick#How_to_recover_the_USB_stick_for_.22normal.22_...

Re: Zoom meeting software
The zoom software generally work fairly well. But it's not very well tested and little behind the Windows and Mac versions. I host meetings regularly and can't rely on the Linux version. It has a habit of crashing the app when video sharing. So I use Windows when using zoom Sadly it can't be helped ...

Re: UEFI Problems
When you use the installer in either legacy or efi mode it defaults grub to sda
That's sda as in the MBR
However, if you are installing as efi you need to use the drop down selector to install grub to the efi partition - for me that's sda1 but YMMV
Had you done that?

Re: Changed Partition Type, now I can't access the drive
Thanks everyone, I was able to recover some of the data, if I am not mistaken it should at least be most of the important data. Lesson learned though, don't mess around with Hard drives in Linux. I guess I'll mark this topic as solved, thanks again everyone who wrote. Edit: I don't seem to be able ...

Re: Changed Partition Type, now I can't access the drive
I suppose we have to assume there is no actual data on this 2TB drive? If we assume correctly, then I suggest you use Gparted - you may need to install this sudo apt-get install gparted Delete everything on the 2TB drive and create one new primary partition and select the format as NTFS (You can add...

Re: Changed Partition Type, now I can't access the drive
Linux typically has no issues accessing Windows file systems SO LONG as you have set windows to shut down fully. You have to jump a few hoops to do it in windows but if you don't, the file system is seen as still in use when Linux tries to access it. Typically windows will use ntfs/exfat and it is e...

Re: Zoom Meeting - does not work
From what I can see it is indeed 32 bit and as you say - ageing
Don't really expect Zoom will work very well, if at all.
2GB RAM and if the specs I saw are the same as you, the video uses almost half of that
NVIDIA ION up to 895MB total graphics memory
